I am more than ok with it. If a draft criticism of JS has been that he doesn't hit on 1st round picks, then why not trade them for proven all pro level talent? The point of the picks is to add talent, right? That's what we did here...and young talent at that.

Now if we are able to bring Clowney back, I think we are a clear SB contender and maybe even the surging consensus pick in the NFC. Even without Clowney, we are firmly in the discussion and will surely get an increasing amount of attention.

Whether it is Clowney or someone else, we REALLY need more edge lineman. I saw somewhere that Nick Bosa had more wins than our entire DL core last year.

Clowney is still available. We still have plenty of time to sign him. We now have more cap room than we did a couple days ago, and you can always make more. I still think Clowney plays in Seattle in 2020 if he plays anywhere...and if there is a season.

For sure a boom or bust trade. For sure a lot was given up but Adams does make this defense much better. Now go sign a edge rusher and this off season could be a A.

I can say that doesn't shock me one bit, i think we all expected him to go on the exempt list because this is a MAJOR issue he is involved with.

So Adams has two years left on his contract. If the season doesn’t happen, does anyone know if players get credit for the season? Specially wondering how that would effect Adams contract. He is a deal for this year at 3.5 million, be a double downer if the season gets cancelled and Adams get credit for a season that didn’t happen and then he’s in the final year of his contract and would want a new or extended contract.

If there isn't a season, I can't imagine players getting an accrued year when there was no year. Same if they opt out I believe.

Yeah you would think. Just haven’t seen any info on the matter other then some debate about guaranteed money and are teams on the hook for that money if no season.

I just can't get into sports at this time... I want to be excited but I can't get there... It's not the same w/out fans and I don't see sports completing a season this year... Nothing is going to have a chance to get to normalcy until the election is decided...

I had resigned myself to no NFL season, but got to admit trading for Adams got me fired up some.

Seahawks Q&A: Answering your questions about the Jamal Adams trade

@JakeAnonymous: What kind of contract extension is he looking for?

Adams will almost certainly be looking to be paid like the best safety in the game, which means a contract that exceeds that of Eddie Jackson. The 26-year-old Jackson signed a four-year, $58.4 million extension with the Chicago Bears in January that will pay him an average salary of $14.6 million. Spotrac.com estimates the market value of a contract for Adams to be six-years and $88.4 million (an average salary of $14.7 million).

@kkhbro: Does this affect the money that might be available to sign Jadeveon Clowney?

Not for this year. A few recent roster moves gave Seattle a bit more flexibility there, too. OverTheCap and Spotrac give the Seahawks anywhere from $15 to $17 million in salary cap space, though that doesn’t include rookie deals or salaries for practice squad players, among other things, so the actual amount they have to spend is a bit lower. Point is, for 2020 it’s not drastically different than it was before the trade for Adams. They may need to make a corresponding move if they pay Clowney to free up some more space, but if they want to do it, they can make it happen.

I think it'll happen. Too much money involved for them to not at least try. I think how the MLB season progresses will be an indication of what to expect for the NFL.

I think there will be an NFL season for sure there is just waayyyy to much money on the line for there not to be a season and if the NBA and MLB can make it happen and the NFL to have to cancel after having all summer to try and figure something out would be the ultimate disappointment.

As for Jamal Adams if he has another All Pro season I think he would be very deserving of being the highest paid safety in the league. At that point 3 straight years of being all pro on two different teams there is no doubt he is the absolute best.

I don't mind them bringing Jackson back on a vet minimum deal at all. Not the best player but he is a very passable back-up.
