The Hawks had a really good running game up until all the players who run the ball got hurt at the end of the year. Valiant efforts by Lynch & Homer, but it clearly wasn't the same. With either Carson or Penny I think we beat GB in the div round, and then who knows from there. As it was, I think we were a horrible drop by Malik Turner from making the NFCC.

Now with AB retiring for the 10th time, hopefully the FO signs Gordon and still hoping for Griffen.

But talented. I hate losing the 1st's but he is worth it.

Gives us that Smack threat that we lost when Bam Bam Kam retired.

wow, that's a lot, also isn't he going to want a new contract? Can we afford him?

I LOVE the deal!

When you consider the price tag of first rounders along with the Seahawks record of drafting in the first how can this be bad? I don't have the numbers in front of me and know that he wants a new deal which is fine, but by sending McDougald in the deal does this allow for the possibility of Clowney coming back too? If we can somehow land Clowney this offseason is pretty much a win as far as I'm concerned. The cherry on top would be getting Gordon back, this team is gonna rake this year.

Man I’m mixed, 2 first rounders, Jesus ... sure they’re likely gonna be bottom first rounders, but still, yikes ... We have to sign Jamaal long term now, it’s a must, so hopefully we can fit him in with Clowney if possible ...

Remember though, we still have a less than stellar defensive coach, so that’s gonna be the part that must improve... We can’t be so effin predictable anymore...

We have two years time to sign him. Adams is scheduled to make three plus mil this year and if we keep the option around ten next year. Yes we are going to sign him long term ASAP but we have a lot of options on how to manipulate the cap with him.

We also have to take in to consideration the covid effect on players in college this upcoming season. Already reduced season this year. There is going to be a good chance that players coming into the next two drafts will be more under developed and raw then the past few years

I am shocked nobody is talking about this. How in the hell are teams going to prepare for the 2021 draft? Everything looks like the 2020 college football season will be canceled even if the major schools like Alabama and Ohio State the smaller schools that dont make fortunes off their football teams wont have as much incentive to force a season. I think being a buyer with your draft picks is a smart approach but it will sting that in 2022 we wont have a 1st but hey thats the cost and will be worth it if Jamal Adams plays like a prime Earl Thomas.

If the Seahawks get some talent on the D then I love this trade.

If they stand pay then I absolutely hate this trade.

If they bring back Clowney or do some other move to provide more help on D then our Defense could be a real force.

I am ok with this trade as Adams is looked at as one of the Best Safety's in the game and he is only 24. When i saw this online i was like "WHAT!?!?"

The only issue i see is if they do not resign him. That's way WAY to much to give up for a 1-2 year rental. Still he instantly makes our defense a lot better on the backend.

Yes I see it the same. The move only makes sense if they shore up the pass rush.

Adams will drop into that 3rd LBer/in the box safety in passing downs and thats something they couldn't do with Bradley McDougald. They tried and he just was not the in the box safety enforcer that was needed to play in the single high safety that Pete likes to run on Defense. The lost first round picks hurt but the money they save on not paying those first round picks will help to retain Adams and he is a building block to build around ( only 24 ). This instantly makes the Hawks passing defense better in my eyes.

McDougald had a cap hit of 4 mill this season and Adams has a cap hit of $825,000 this season so this move also frees up 3.8 Million in cap money THIS SEASON to maybe bring in a DE. ( Clowney/Griffen ). At $825,000 salary though he might be one of these players that sits this season but then if he does that he will lose a season and his 2020 contract would carry over to 2021. Seeing as he wants to get paid i can see him play if there is a season.

Now had Dunbar not been a moron the Hawks back end would be one of the better units int he NFL ... if only.

Hawks are at 16.9 Million Cap Space now. ( McDougald has a 1.3mill Dead cap hit to the hawks this season and Britt has a 3.9 Dead cap hit, the team has a total dead money cap charge in 2020 of $6.9 mill)

With the season in doubt due to COVID seems like a bad time to make such bold move. Good to have actual football news though.
