Looks like he's going to the Browns. Getting down to Clowney or the draft.
If Seattle offered him 18.5 that’s and pretty dam close to the 20 he’s looking for, not sure why he would hold out over 1.5 when he could easily make that up with endorsements etc... He’s talking about a short term deal now, like 1 or 2 years so he can hit the market again ... He’s not really showing he cares about winning right now, it’s all about hitting the open market to him.... Bummer....
in that case he had a career year as a rotation player getting 8.5 sacks last season.
Seahawks dont have the cap space for a 18.5 million hit they are down to 18.3 million and That doesn’t account for the signings of free agents Bruce Irvin, Brandon Shell, Cedric Ogbuehi, Luke Willson and Chance Warmack. They also need 5 million to sign their draft picks at the least.
the cap only jumping 10 million tied the Hawks hands a little. Hawks need to hit on 60-70% of their draft this season.
Yes we know they will release players and free up money and some of those releases could be a gut punch to many of the fans. They will lose well liked and talented players.

Where do you hear he's going to the Browns? I'm hoping Griffen stays on the market because he would be a cheaper option than Clowney if he goes elsewhere.

Report: Everson Griffen Leaves Vikings, Browns Named Likely Landing Spot
Speculation mostly.
I would be surprised if Griffen signs before Clowney. They're probably going to wait until Clowney signs somewhere and then market Griffen as the best available pass rusher.
Although this could be one of the many times a comment of mine is quoted in the future proving I'm wrong.
Don't forget Clowney wants to play for a contender so that takes a lot of teams off his list. I'm fine if he takes Seattle's one yr deal.
I think he would take 20 million on a loser over 18 million on a "maybe" winner. Thing is no one so far has offered him his 20-21 million he was shooting for.

Will supposedly he has a better offer then that from the Seahawks.

I'm thinking Seattle has the best offer or he would have signed by now if some team offered him the 20mil he's looking for.
No doubt the off season hasn’t worked out for Clowney liked he hoped.
