I said USED. Guy had 8 sacks last year, not a earth shattering number. Down right pedestrian really.

If 8 is pedestrian then we don't have a single pedestrian pass rusher on this team. I would live to have one, actually can i have 4? thats 32 sacks and we got 28 TOTAL all of last season. lol

i would not drop 20+ mil and a 1st round pick plus more for an 8 sack guy.

give clowney the 20 he wants, and use the 1st pick to add another pass rusher.

Well, Bruce is back with his 8.5 from last year so we just need three more. Give me Clowney, Everson Griffen, and Clay Matthews and all will be good. With the hopes we can get Gordon back on offense he would be the last of the free agency puzzle as far as I’m concerned. Fill the rest in the draft and no season due to the corona virus here we come!

I have to imagine this is happening. He would've been snatched up WELL before now especially the way some teams are tossing around money.

They probably already agreed to a deal, but they're working on the COVID language...

End of day I'd like to see a deal, Clowney was THE BEST EDGE rusher in the league last year... I know some of you on the forum have said: "But where are the sacks!?" and I've responded saying hurries/QB hits, etc. are FAR more important to consistently get. Clowney was double teamed the 2nd half of the year and when healthy was still finding ways to get through.

We have a 1st and 2 2nds... I'd REALLY like to add another premier pass rusher, some secondary, and offensive lineman.

On the flip note, how the fuck did we get down to $20 some odd million of cap room? We had like $60M coming into the season and have signed fuck all...

was not talking about Yannick because there are some 8 sack guys they could have grabbed had they not sat on this Clowney deal so long. Also i was just bringing up the point that you said ped numbers ( 8 sacks ) when we do not have a single 8 sack guy on the team (we do now with Irvin). 8 sacks on this team are superstar numbers when looking at last season and thats not hyperbowl that's facts. lol

we would have more than enough once we cut and restructure a few guys, but you’re right that in the moment we would be short.

If Seattle offered him 18.5 that’s and pretty dam close to the 20 he’s looking for, not sure why he would hold out over 1.5 when he could easily make that up with endorsements etc... He’s talking about a short term deal now, like 1 or 2 years so he can hit the market again ... He’s not really showing he cares about winning right now, it’s all about hitting the open market to him.... Bummer....
