It's truly a tossup this year. As in BPA. We should wait until AFTER Thursday's 1st Rd before we put our stake in the ground lol. But even then it could still be some 3-4th round reach. And I wouldn't even take QB off the list, even if it would upset me.

Who I hope it is (where I'm putting my stake now):

Cesar Ruiz, G/C

Other Suspects:

Mekhi Becton, T (drug test flagged him at combine... could slide. Easy choice if there)
Ezra Cleveland, T
Lloyd Cushenberry, G/C
Robert Hunt, G
Jonathan Taylor, RB
JK Dobbins, RB
Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB
Temaurice Higgins, WR
Jalen Reagor, WR
Michael Pittman, WR
Justin Jefferson, WR
Grant Delpit, S
Antoine Winfield, S
Jeremy Cinn, S
Justin Madubuike, DT
Ross Blacklock, DT
Neville Gallimore, DT
Raekwon Davis, DT
Jonathan Greenard, EDGE
Jush Uche, EDGE
Zack Baun, EDGE
Jalen Hurts, QB

Obviously I really want an O-lineman. But the dropoff in talent is steep and they can find plenty of "same tier" talent in rounds 3 & 4.
I'd like Ruiz, but I think he's long gone. 1st round selection.

I don't want an RB whatsoever, but I think they do.

With how poorly evaluated this draft will be, This is the perfect year to not have a 1st round pick, having traded it away for proven talent.

Colbert, Tomlin agree draft will be different

"It will be a little bit different," said Colbert about this year's process, "because our totals indicate we have 74 players for whom we will not have a 40-yard dash times. We have 76 players who will have incomplete physicals because they were not able to go back for the makeup physicals that would (normally) happen coming out of the Combine if they still had some injuries healing. Coach Tomlin and I have interviewed 125 players, either at the Senior Bowl, at the Combine, or through FaceTime calls, which I think we ended up doing about 37 of those over the last three weeks.

I'm putting my stake in the ground now:

Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU
I like Reagor but I worry he's more of a Cordarrell Patterson type playmaker and not a full time move the chains receiver. Would be an excellent value in the second round though.

Yeah, my money is on RB at 49. Especially after Rooney mentioned wanting to see the ground game improve and then Tomlin giving Conner the vote of no confidence. I think one or two of those five will drop to them and that's where they go.

Unless they catch a falling star. There's always a couple first round talents that fall and fall.

If they skip RB until the late rounds... Ty'son Williams. I really, really, like this kid. Very little tape because he was buried on the depth chart. But when he got a chance he made it count. He would be available late. Might even be able to get him as a priority free agent.

You gotta think Lamb, Jeudy, Ruggs, and Jefferson would definitely be gone.

That leaves Pittman, Aiyuk, Higgins, Reagor, Shenault, Mims, and Edwards.

If you had to pick, who do you like there?

I'm a HUGE Mims fan. But I actually think he will sneak into the first and won't be there.

Big and fast. Good vision. Great feet and contact balance. Blew out his ACL a bit back. Never rushed for more than 500 yards. But I just have a feeling he's going to be a decent pro. At least good enough to wow for a stretch and become good trade-bait in FF haha.

He's got top 10 talent, but is a shithead. IMO.

We've historically made some decent shitaide from the shitheads.

Again, not my preference. I'd rather get some beef for the lines, or a Star safety.

Mims i think goes before us, but i LOVE LOVE LOVE mims....

but id rather have aiyuk, higgins, edwards, and shenault.......but i think shenault is kinda fools gold, doesnt run great routes, great with the ball in his hands, hurt alot, u need to make plays for him IMHO

I stumbled across him doing my nerd homework.

looks good on the highlight tape.

really nice size and speed.

acl to end his year. i strongly doubt he gets drafted he seems like hes gonna be an UDFA guy that gets into camp..

bounced around from college to college.......never got a footing, but had some wiggle in limited oppertunities everywhere........

im struggling to find, why did he transfer multiple times? when he did, why wasnt he getting the rock? BYU run game last year was abysmal, they coudlnt find a main carrier to save their lives.......

he looks the part

I like Kelly too. But I don't have a lot on him done yet.

I'm still not sure if ESPN+ will let me stream the draft without Hulu Live. And I'm not paying $70 to watch the draft.

Shenault has that alpha-receiever upside though. Boom or bust.

Right. There are enough flags that if he gets drafted it will be very late but is probably a UDFA.

If they are forced to go WR, something tells me they will go after one of the WRs with size: Mims, Pittman or Higgins.

They need a different height element to their WR corps instead of another 5'10" to 6'0" guy that they already have plenty of.

I'm not big on Higgins though. To me he looks like nothing more than a jump ball guy. Compared to the others in this class Higgins has sloppier routes, lacks explosiveness, not dynamic in open field (almost all of his YAC comes on go-route long balls), and his numbers at his Pro Day were subpar (mid 4.5s in 40 time). I have a creeping suspicion that he will struggle at the next level. He is very technical at the top of his routes though, which separates him from most of the other jump-ball guys. I'd call him a good "finisher" if that makes sense. So there's that.

If I had to choose out of those 3 big-guy WRs, it would be Mims.

I think the most of the upper 1st round prospects will still be taken in the 1st part of the draft. Where the GMs have a legit gripe imo are the lower level prospects that may not get to the combine and were relying on pro day and tape.

The other part is the medicals.
