Na, don't believe I said the women in particular play hard, like you said the Special Olympic athletes and even the Mens National Team try hard. We all have choices in what we want to watch. I really admire the US Womans National Team for being the best in the World (in general, that's why we play the games). I'll be rooting for them and watching them tomorrow.

Giving them a pity attendance bump doesn’t mean anything. It’s men’s sports played under water. Physically they’re not as gifted and most casual sports fans see the difference. And like most women sports, there’s hardly any parody. Upsets are very rare and the talent pool isn’t deep. And yes, the boys U-15 club would beat these ladies.

US started off the game so poorly for their standards.. Then 30 minutes played amazing... Last few minutes including stoppage time Netherlands took it to the US

Yep....the reason that first 30 was so lackluster was that for the first time this tournament the opponent has surprised us with a tactical move. They were not expecting that alignment. It gave up the wings a slight bit, but has worked some on closing the inside attack lanes. We started to break it down late in the half, but luck and the amazing Dutch goalie was the difference. She made some solid saves. Getting past her is going to have to be well earned.

Set pieces have been sloppy for the most part. Not happy there.

I think that the level of call/no call is appropriate for a final.....but I have some real concern with consistency, not shown any better than LaValle going down ticky tack-no call (agreed) but immediately whistling on Dahlkemper (almost as ticky tack). I think that sequence got in our head a bit and threw them off. Thank god for the half.

Second half I expect the same from the Dutch. Sit back and try to lock the box down on D and look for a moment to spring the counter. The counter from the Dutch is what scares me the most.

Not only 6’6”....but very skilled as well. She has been on the right place the whole first half. By far the toughest goalie we’ve seen.

Here’s to hoping the Dutch legs start to give in the second half. Subs will be crucial for both sides.

I thought the officiating was suspect first half. Refs seem to let the players play, exception of a couple of yellows. I thought the US was fouled just outside the box at the end.
