FWIW I think Burns is gone this offseason. I’d honestly like it if they went out & resigned Coty Sensabaugh. At least provide better camp competition, and maybe push Sutton out as well. If Sutton transitions to S then maybe that opens the door for another CB.

Burns has a 3 mil cap hit so that alone makes me think he's done this offseason.

If they do indeed slice Burns, I could see them bringing in another vet CB, or a vet S depending on how things go. If Sutton moves to S, then for sure another CB will be adding because they probably wouldn't feel very comfortable.

I like this kid, I I don't think he'll be a superstar out of the gate, but I see good things for him.

Tre Boston is still out there... he played really well for AZ last year

Ben makes UDFAs look starting caliber so I bet he contributes well out the gate.

Cards signed TE Maxx Williams.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ba...na-cardinals-2015-nfl-draft-trade-full-circle

Son of a... Was kinda sorta hoping the Steelers would have brought this kid in. Leave it to PIT west to keep that AFCN pipeline flowing.
Maxx Williams was a nobody. High draft position, but what has he ever done?

His best year was his rook year, and it's been downhill since.

If the Steelers need a TE, there will be better options in final cuts as we get closer to the season.

He was miscast in Baltimore. They used him primarily as a blocking TE, but he's also been plagued by injuries. Thing is I'm not viewing FA TE's as a starter. I'm thinking TE3 with upside to TE2. Someone that can block, mainly. Since we do not have a proven blocker behind Vance. And don't try to tell me that Grimble can, because I have seen how bad he can be. Williams may not have been the stellar receiving threat while healthy, but he was good in the trenches. He would have been a good depth piece.

Film Analysis: Zach Gentry in the 2018 Peach Bowl

Glimmer of hope. He's a "smart blocker", although he rarely wins against better competition. Jachai Polite dominated him on a handful of plays that game, and he was drafted in the 3rd Rd. Hopefully his work with Sarrett this offseason will help, as well as adding muscle to his frame.

Here's one post draft 53.

Bryan: 2019 Steelers 53-Man Roster Prediction: Post Draft Edition - Steelers Depot

A few interesting positions.

CB...he has them keeping Burns over Brian Allen. Allen has been strong on ST...I don't see them axing him for Burns unless Burns just lights it up in camp.

S...only 4...with Sutton and Hilton able to drop back into the FS role, I can see this headcount playing out.

ILB...he keeps Dirty Red for ST but not B Allen.

OLB...Adams gone...I can see this, he needs a strong camp to make it.

I think if cut his dead money is only 1.3 Million. Yeah he is gone unless all 6 in front of him get hurt and they are desperate for warm bodies.

Interesting he as PJ Locke make the team who was just a recent undrafted rookie signing.

Yea that’s a stretch. Much rather have Dangerfield. And I’m not buying McCullers making it again. Dunbar did wonders for Big Dan’s game but he’s still replaceable.

I know...at some point it's going to run out for Dangerfield...I think with Sutton and Hilton able to fill in at FS, and Barron now being able to play some dime safety, there's a good chance they stick with 4 S.

Dangerfield should make it over an UDFA, but I think McCullers will be the 6th DL unless they think Buggs is a legit inside/outside guy.

Steelers Release Keion Adams, Five Others In Minicamp Roster Shakeup - Steelers Depot

Time up Keion Adams....further proof that they think this Adeniyi kid is going to be in the rotation and Sutton looks good to make the 53.
Hit the nail on the head. Huge vote of confidence in Adeniyi & Smith. Both are going to be ST contributors, and I don’t think Adams would have fit in there.

But also makes me wonder about the Toledo kid that they signed. Hear any buzz on the kid? Or maybe they are simply disappointed in Adams’ development?

Tuzar Skipper? Haven't heard anything on him yet, but of course it wouldn't matter much anyway...they don't have any pads on yet.

I think that Adams had not shown enough to unseat Adeniyi on the depth chart and probably was not strong on ST so he was expendable.
