Are you happy?
After Joerger was fired Thursday and the reports came out that Walton could be the favorite had he become available, I wasn't happy. Since then I've read more into the improvements his team made over 2 seasons before LeBron got there and how they were playing well up until his injury which makes me feel better about this decision. Maybe not happy because he wasn't my #1 choice but I feel pretty good about it now.

there is a better chance hte Cavs get Zion (14%) then the Lakers get Kawhi.

I may be wrong, but I dont see much of a chance in hell that Kawhi, Klay, Durant, or Kyrie - any one of those 4, sign with the Lakers.

I think Kemba stays in Charlotte.

We know David Griffin is not going to make a dumb trade for Davis. No one is getting a Dell Demps deal.

I think the best player that the Lakers will have a legit shot at in free agency is the right to pay Jimmy Butler 4 years 140M going into his age 30 season.

I tend to agree. However, if the Lakers do land one of those guys and sign a couple of solid vet role players, they're a contender. I'm sure those guys know that too.

I think whoever the new president, coach and maybe new GM are will have a lot to do with what happens with their chances. Getting those decisions right, may still not be enough, but it'll sure help.

Players have said Lue was not afraid to call out Lebron.

That alone would make Lue a good hire, imo.

And it's not just Lebron either. It's that way with most superstars. Part of the reason Kobe and Phil worked the 2nd time was because Kobe allowed himself to be coached by and called out by Phil.

Doesn't matter who the coach is if the best player won't listen to him.

once again 76ers prove to be pretenders and will go no further in playoffs than they did last season

I'd argue they were actually a better team last year too

bump for truth

Ummmm.

Remember Joel Embiid?

You know, there best player? A rising NBA superstar?

You may not have noticed, but he hasn't played since the all star break.

He makes a small difference.

how much of a difference did he make today i wonder....

Butler is the best player on that team. Simmons is afraid and Embiid is just not all there yet

i just gotta laugh

magic a few months ago "we arent going to do things like Cleveland"....

well, you succeeded in that Magic!! lol.....

Its just so funny- I was assured- LeBron will not be calling the shots, LeBron will be playing off the ball....LeBron will listen to Magic and Luke.

What actually happened? What everyone who was not a Lakers fan KNEW would happen- LeBron took control of teh franchise and did whatever he wanted to do.
They hired Magic and Pelinka as Pres and GM. Maybe we should have gone with AC and Scott Boras.

Pretty significant but the team is out of sync defensively and it feels like Simmons has no clue what to do on offense again.

He did a solid job gradually getting better the first two seasons. And I'd argue getting the wins with that mess of a roster this past season isn't something to right off either. But its crazy how fast he got a job. Like damn, did you even discuss a contract or just write him a blank check? It's like Luke got fired and Vlade was driving the Uber that picked him up outside of Lakers HQ.

It was obvious with how quickly things happened that Vlade was set on Luke right away. I think it would have made sense to interview a few other coaches instead of signing the first one you talk to but Vlade is convinced he will take them to the next level. Both signed for 4 years, if it's not working out once their contracts end both should be gone while Fox and Bagley are still in their mid 20's and Buddy in his mid 30's.

Weird that they are doing this without interviewing other coaches, Vlade must love Walton.

Is it that weird though?

Has anything Vlade has done not been weird?
