So, the West is much different than the East, huh? We've watched LBJ cake walk through the East for many seasons. But...a lot of people here predicted it wouldn't be as easy to succeed as it had been in the past.

Guess Lebron found that out. lol

Hate that Embiid isn't playing tonight, now I think Rockets may role.

No disagreement....all we know is with the lure of LA, Lebron and a ton of money Magic could not get anyone who could help. This cannot really be refuted.

Who has refuted it? All that has been suggested is that we don't know who the Lakers talked to and who they didn't. That also, cannot really be refuted.

What I find hard to understand is why is he so out of shape? I get he wasn't playing or working out while healing...but since then he hasn't been able to get back? Even when we consider his regimen as being state of the art?

The best explanation that I have heard is that he has never been through an injury like this and had no plan for it.

All I know is that he looks heavier and hasn't had the same explosiveness as before the injury. He started looking like he has some of it back, but nt where he was and he still looks heavy.

It was that hard for a solid player to earn minutes for his next deal if he had talent? MJ sold Tony Parker on being a backup in Charlotte. Magic couldn't do the same in LA? How about Jeff Green instead of Lance?

Again, we don't know who they talked to. But, yeah it could be hard for them to earn minutes if they aren't in the plan going forward. If you're the coach and you have a guy who is likely to be around for years and a guy who is just there as a salary cap placeholder...your playing the guy who's going to be there.

How the AD debacle came about & went down- and LBJ's role in it- probably made it easier for the youngsters to relate to Kyrie when he wanted out of a winning situation.

You may very well be right about that. At the very least, as I said earlier, I don't think the kids trust him anymore.

Wasn't the first time a legend had a rough first season on the Lakers...

LeBron James isn’t the only superstar to have a rough first Lakers season

Good article. I remember both of those. You could actually say that Kareem's first 3 seasons with the Lakers weren't as successful as expected. It wasn't until Magic came along that everything took off.

Same with Shaq, although that changed when Kobe got better and they brought in Phil to replace Del Harris.

Maybe that's on Magic for hiring someone to be the GM with no experience? And Buss for hiring Magic in his role?

It is, no doubt. They could have used Mitch in an advisory role, but chose not to do that.

This year was a "learning year" for the entire organization, imo.

Starting this summer and next year...everyone in the organization has to learn from what happened this year and do better.

Ummmm.

Remember Joel Embiid?

You know, there best player? A rising NBA superstar?

You may not have noticed, but he hasn't played since the all star break.

He makes a small difference.

matchup actually favors the sixers because of the size.... so we'll see

Yeah - no way tonight. Rockets just too strong.

Wish the Raptors were on national TV instead.
