Much needed W for the Bucks.

Needed this after Philly beat them in Milwaukee a few weeks ago

If Lowry disappears as he normally does then I disagree.
Yeah I don't think Kawhi and the rest can do enough to make up for him no showing at least against teams like Milwaukee, Philly, and Boston. Time for him to step up when it matters most.

ven with the addition of LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers are set to embark upon another uncertain offseason, and the belief is the organization’s power structure is in a state of dysfunction at its onset.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Lakers are “an organization right now that is not aligned really on any level” as the team closes out a sixth straight losing campaign.

Woj goes on to note that it’s imperative that co-owner and CEO Jeanie Buss, president of basketball operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka collectively formulate a workable plan so that the team does not waste another season of the LeBron James Era.

Woj adds that those three, along with embattled head coach Luke Walton, who is likely to be cut loose, and James — who has at every stop in his NBA career conducted himself as a quasi-front-office executive — have not been on the same page all season.

One particularly outspoken NBA analyst argued earlier in the season that it would be Magic Johnson’s fault if the Lakers failed to reach the postseason. It seems unlikely that Buss would fire Johnson, but she just conceded this week that the Lakers have “haven’t lived up to the brand” created by her father, the late Dr. Jerry Buss.

There has been an unsurprising abundance of criticism over the Lakers falling well short of expectations this season. That said, the organization has an opportunity to quickly reverse course simply due to James’ presence.

While it may seem counterintuitive, it’s been speculated James actually may be more of a hindrance than an asset when it comes to attracting top-tier free agents to L.A., with that belief even suggested by one of those superstars who will be available this summer.

It will be worth monitoring how the Lakers go about their business in the immediate aftermath of the season ending. It could go a long way in setting the stage for how the organization will approach this extremely critical upcoming offseason.

They should have had this wrapped up a few games back but resting a bunch of players a few games put them in games they could not quite pull off. The one in Atlanta a few games back pissed me off.

But is nice to have home court and pretty much had home court throughout the season and was nice to see them stay competitive

once again 76ers prove to be pretenders and will go no further in playoffs than they did last season

I'd argue they were actually a better team last year too

Still think Toronto is the team to beat.
I agree.

I think Kawhi is the best player in the Eastern Conference, and I think Toronto has the ability to play outstanding team defense come playoff time.

Giannis is great... but I don't think he is all-the-way there yet. In the playoffs, I think the best teams will be able to shift defense his way and slow down the overall Milwaukee machine.

If I had to rank the Eastern conference contenders, I'd order them as follows:

#1 - Toronto
#2 - Boston
#3 - Milwaukee
#4 - Philly

A likely 2nd round match-up between Boston and Milwaukee is going to be a great series... my homer take is that the C's still have the edge.

I don't necessarily disagree with this.
But, last year they were winning 15 in a row against bad teams to end the season.
This year, they don't care about these games and are trying to ensure maximum health for the playoffs.

But, how do you sit Embiid out for 3 games for load management, then play him 37 minutes?????

I believe their thinking is that they are going to be just flip the switch and play good defense in the playoffs?
Brown said after the game they were still working on communication and were discombobulated with the different lineups.
We could be looking at a first round exit here.

Bad faith agreements with players are a really bad idea. If players don't trust management, why are they going to sign there?

Players all realize it is a business and sometimes tough decisions need to be made. But if you make a verbal committment to a player and then renege on it, that will make other players distrust you.

...and if this was any middle of the road NBA team, it wouldn't even be a news story.

So are you a KD apologist or something?

Hes about as thin skinned as it goes and I can see him leaving just because people saying he rode Steph's jock would drive him crazy

If he would've paid attention the summer he left the Thunder for the Warriors, he would've known he was going to get that treatment. He became the biggest front-runner once he joined the Warriors, suddenly all over social media.

kinda funny that, in addition to the Lakers- LeBron is having problems recruiting guys for Space Jam 2...LOL

On Thursday's episode of ESPN's "The Jump," Rachel Nichols asked Brian Windhorst if he believes LeBron will "actively recruit" some of the elite free agents this summer.

"Historically, LeBron has sort of been involved but not all the way involved, because he doesn't necessarily want to be known as the guy who couldn't close the deal," Windhorst said. "He doesn't want it to all to be on him.

"LeBron has perfected the art of influencing deals without taking ownership of them. Of course he will reach out to free agents. Of course he will try. The ability for him to close deals -- that's different."

Now, to the reason you are reading this article:

"And in all honesty, he's been recruiting players to come and try to be in 'Space Jam' with him this summer, and he hasn't been able to close some of those deals," Windhorst revealed. "Some of the top guys he wants to come and be with him in the movie … 'You put me in the movie where you're the star, I'm gonna be the one you're dunking on.'
