Enough that I don't think the Sixers can win this series without him healthy and playing well.

He owns Jarrett Allen to an alarming degree. Either way they need to bring more effort and a better defensive game plan, but they need Joel for sure.

I wonder if that trend continues today?

I'd be cool with it if it does...because to me, the more basketball that's being played, the better from a fan's perspective, as far as I'm concerned

Maybe with some seedings it still does.
There are still tangible concerns like matchup problems, +/or lingering injury possibilities, especially the longer these series' continue.

Joerger just got them to their best record since their last playoff appearance and he got dumped, a 12 game improvement from the previous season. Not a lot of job security inherent in that position. Plus, Walton just had a similar young roster PLUS Lebron and couldn't put it all together. Walton may not have been to blame, but he certainly wasn't fixing things either.
