Iverson was also a much, much superior defender. He wasn't all-world great, but he gave effort and also sits at 12th all time in the NBA in steals. I actually just checked his advanced stats, and although he was pretty bad later in his career, the first 8 years in the NBA, here was his DRTG

That's my one main knock on Kyrie, and many others share the same view. Kyrie's defense prevents him from being considered in the top 5 in the NBA, hell, even at his own position. If he would play solid defense to get him around some of the all-nba teams, he'd be a top 5 player in the league IMO.

If we are only judging on one side of the ball, then this season, he wasn't even better than the Celtics fake Isiah Thomas, let alone Iverson.

We'll see. Both teams are in a weird situation. Indiana knowns Cleveland needs him. Cleveland knows that PG13 won't be in Indiana and that Indiana can't lose him for nothing.
