How much money are you seriously going to pay for a bench player though?

Whatever they were giving Lou Williams. They gave him about $6-7m off the top of my head. Fairly sure that's over double Waiters was making.

Waiters is not getting just 7 mill. I think he is going to get at least 13-15 mill yearly.

Do you have a minute to talk about Joe Burrow?

Call me crazy, but I'd rather give James Johnson that instead of Waiters. Waiters just below 10 mil seems right. Let the Lakers overpay for him if that's the case.

I love both. James Johnson is probably the safer option

All NBA players make an obscene amount of money.

Yeah, I wouldn't want him for that price.

Can't blame you especially since he won't be starting. I wouldn't mind giving him that on a short deal to be my starting SG. I honestly wouldn't have any issue if Miami gave him 3/45 with a player option after the 2nd year because I know he will be our starting SG. But yeah if you want him to come off your bench then I'm not going higher than 10 mill yearly.

I want the Lakers to sign James Jones. Dude has managed to drag Lebron to 7 straight finals. Imagine what he could do with good players. :heh:

Agree. The only way he'd start is if the Lakers traded Russell and if they do that, it would likely be part of a trade for PG-13, who would be the 2 guard and Waiters still ends up on the bench.

Plus, while he played great for the Heat, it's not enough of a sample size for that kind of money, imo. No guarantee that he could duplicate for the Lakers what he did for the Heat.

First, let's try to figure out what he might make. The Nets offered Allen Crabbe a four-year, $75 million deal last summer, which the Trail Blazersmatched, and J.R. Smith signed a four-year, $57 million contract with Cleveland right before the season began. Judging off those deals for a baseline, let's estimate somewhere around a four-year $60 million deal for
