I'll hold the shooting ability discussion until Simmons actually gets some live game minutes.
You keep going off track. What does Simmons' shot have to do with Ball's flawed mechanics?

Like anything you type about the Lakers isn't a comparison to your Sixers, lol. You're very transparent.
Just remember how critical you were over two summer league games when/if Simmons plays some regular season games and can't/won't shoot. Glass houses.
Trade makes sense for both sides....
Carroll was a horrible contract. That pick is going to be mid 20s.
Yeah but after the mess Billy King created with the Celtics trade it is nice to see Marks find his way into the first round in now 2 consecutive years.

For basketball's sake, it would be nice to have one of the NY-based teams be semi-competent. Hopefully Marks can turn them around to where they're mildly competitive again.
I'm not backing off my predictions. Just stating a simple fact -- no one knows the future. I don't see any reason to believe that the Lakers have dramatically improved their team. They should have a top 10 pick again this year and possibly going forward. They need their young guys to improve and they need to sign a very good free agent (or two).

That is just it though.
The Lakers are going to be huge players in free agency now. There is no way around it. Ingram is ready to break out and Ball is the type of player that EVERYBODY will want to play with. It isn't even about how good he is, he moves the ball and finds guys when they are open. He will attract star players to LA. The presence of Magic, Kobe and the Laker history doesn't hurt either.
I will be shocked if LA does not land at least 1 free agent star next off season.
A James Harden four-year extension would start in 2019-20 at a salary of $37.8M, $40.8M, $43.8M and $46.8M. http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0675433882937465554-4 …
Well GL on your exam dude. I too plan on once again go on hiatus for awhile this fall. Going back to school to take a class in medical terminology in addition to my continued employment at my closest nursing home. Can't be a dietary aide my whole life. LOL
Wait. What does Toronto get out of that deal? You lose a good defender and starting wing along with a 1st rounder (along with a 2nd rounder) for a guy that's going to be in a suit more games. Is this a move for Toronto to stay under salary?

Carroll pretty much sucked last year and makes like $15 million per year. I'm not sure what their next move is -- but dumping Carroll and his contract is probably a good thing.
I'm not convinced that Ball and Ingram will be good enough in 2017-2018 to attract top level talent in the 2018 offseason. But the Lakers have money and will certainly be active players in free agency. I'm just not sure if they can land a star that actually moves the needle for them.
