Chris Haynes: "That's a self-less act."

I want to vomit.

In 2 years they will have a tough decision to make....like Haynes said. Thompson or Green?

It is a sacrifice. He could have been greedy and got the max while forcing the Warriors to lose out on Livingston and Iggy. 34 million yearly is obviously more than 25 million. Let's just say he decides to opt in next year then he is losing out on 18 million.

If you don't think it is a selfless act to take 9 million less then you're just not very smart.

Lol, crank up the excuse machine. It looks like the Jetsons robot.

Not sure why you keep bringing up Danny Ainge when all I was doing was talking about Pat Riley.

And Ainge drafted Al Jefferson who has been to multiple All-Star games. Get your facts straight or don't bother to reply. I have so little time for people who talk out of their ass.

Riley is garbage.

Jefferson has not once made an all star game.

Al Jefferson - Wikipedia

Does Al Jefferson Deserve to Make the NBA All-Star Team?

And yes, I'll try to not make excuses for Riley when it comes to players getting near or career ending injuries like Mourning and Bosh.

Your ability to present a debate is garbage.

Hey if you want to credit any of those titles to him doing anything special other than getting lucky then be my guest.

I never gave the Celtics GM any credit for the fact that Paul Pierce fell to them attempt overall either. I'm not going to give Pat Riley credit for the Pistons being stupid and drafting Darko Milicic and letting Dwyane Wade fall straight into Riley's lap.

Are we supposed to give him credit for the fact that Miami was wretched the year before and they had the fourth overall pick in the draft? I don't know that doesn't to me scream out great GM work. That screams out to me as right place right time.

And he put together a dogshit supporting cast for that Big 3 in Miami when they chose to come play together.

Shit

I think Pat Riley is an atrocious GM

Sorry, but this is simply an indefensible position.

No GM is flawless. Riley has won multiple championships. 5 as coach, 3 as GM. He would qualify as a HOF inductee in either role. Orchestrating the big 3 and acquiring the necessary support pieces was nothing short of brilliant.

Starting to think that guy is just trolling.....Riley was a great coach and has been a great FO man for years.

When guys like Paul Millsap and Kyle Lowry are making significantly more, and Otto Porter is making the same, you are talking about a huge sacrifice.

KD has made 135 million in his career. 10 million isn't going to break him.

I agree to an extent. These guys make it up with endorsements and things like that. But he did leave money on the table so that the Warriors could retain key cogs on the team like Livingston and Iggy could stay on the team.

That's still roughly $15 mil that he let go.
