He's no longer a top guy.

But, he'd be a hell of a #2 or 3.

NY should be going after Rondo....he and Melo could form a good relationship....they have history since they played together at powerhouse Oak Hill in HS.

Yeah I don't get it. I don't want him on my roster as the top guy but I would gladly take him on my team as option # 2 or 3.

At first, I wasn't sure this would be a good move.....but if they were to bring him, you'd have to think they would address that. And Magic is universally well liked by all.....I can't see Rondo fucking that up. He has to know hie's running out of chances.

That's why, while it wouldn't be my first choice, I wouldn't look at it as being as bad as @tlance thinks it would be. Guys on 1 year deals seem to behave themselves more often than not because, as you point out, they are running low on options.

1) So. I'm pretty sure there are a handful of teams he would waive it for.

2) Where did you see he wants to stay in NY to be close to his child? From what his own wife said, he wants to stay close to his son. Boston is pretty close to NY. This isn't Cleveland

He'll definitely bring the added scoring that they lacked vs. the Cavs. The concern would be that he's a ball stopper/iso guy and he'd be playing with a ball dominating, score first point guard.

Agree.

But, he's at the stage in his career where he should realize he has to be the one to bend.

*See everything in @bksballer89 post and add in the fact that this is the last Season on his contract. They can go their separate ways if it doesn't work out.

If they whiff on Hayward, Ibaka, Milsap...there isn't another guy out their that can move the needle in their favor in a matchup with the Cavs. They'd be close with Melo.
