So then you would know there been several Lavar articles/topics not discussed on ESPN right?

You understand that it also means that there have been several Lavar articles/topics that have been discussed on ESPN and not other networks, right?

Just because everything about Lavar isn't discussed on ESPN, has nothing to do with whether or not he's talked about more there or not.

But Jemele Hill is full of shit lol. USA Today backs up everything she said in that tweet.

It would have been journalistic malpractice for Goodman to listen to LaVar say those things about Walton on the record and not print it. Goodman handled that story just as he should. Just as the Lakers knew exactly what they were getting into when they drafted Lonzo Ball. LaVar had been like this at every level of his sons’ basketball careers. He got ex-Chino Hills coach Stephan Gilling fired because of petty disagreements. None of this should have been a surprise.

Carlisle can defend his peer. That’s his job as president of the NBA Coaches Association. But don’t be mad at Goodman for doing his job either.

Rick Carlisle's rant about ESPN's LaVar Ball coverage is completely misguided
^ 100% agree with all this.^

But, did any other Network send a reporter to fucking Lithuania for a few months to cover that shitshow of a farce debut of the Ball brothers?

Maybe they did and I just didn't notice.

LaVar hasn't worked in a while with Lonzo being drafted and his wife suffering her illness. Lonzo should cut off the $ to dad if he doesn't shut up.
Ball in the family tv show, some dumb fuck gave him a deal on cards, memorabilia.

Say, don't you haven't to be a actual player to have a trading card?

Censorship.

You can't stop people from reporting things because it makes you look bad.

* See Ends Kanter

Doesn't seem to be about censorship. Seems to be about quoting credible sources rather than attention seeking idiots.

Lavar can say whatever he wants, but the media is under no obligation to give him a platform.

They report on him way more for a very specific reason.

Per Lavar, he refuses to give in-depth interviews to people he thinks have slighted him.

Seems like Shelbourne, Stephen A now fall squarely in that category.

Actually, Goodman seems like the only one he deals with.

He's responding to the report not saying they shouldn't report it.
No.

He is suggesting that they should not report it period.

And he is right. Lavar is no basketball aurhority.

ESPN is turning into TMZ when they interview him.

That's what is really hilarious about it. What has Lavar ever done to be considered credible enough to be dictating who he will or won't talk to. ESPN (and every other network) should just stop covering the guy.

Agree.

I despise that mofo.

But, to deny the credentials of any reporter that chooses to cover the gimp is excessive.

Dude, I'm seriously about to vom because it almost feels like I'm advocating for that sack of shit.

I'm not.

I want him to crawl into a deep, dark hole...

*Preferably the devils ass after bad Indian food *

To never be seen again.

But, if that Amico report is correct and they are gonna start revoking guys credentials that report on that tard, they will....

A. Make him a Martyr

B. Make him even richer

Both things prolong our agony of hearing about this ignoramus.

But, the strong arm tactics are a clear from of censorship.

I disagree. To me, it's about quoting credible sources.

Lavar has the absolute freedom to say whatever the hell he wants to. However, he doesn't have the right to be provided a national platform on which to say it.

If, for example, a former NBA coach or player calls out Luke's coaching, you report that because it's a credible source.

But if someone with no credibility says it, you treat it like any other source that lacks credibility and ignore it.

The problem is, as DJ points out, ESPN has become the sports version of TMZ. So they go with the loudest and more sensational rather than the most credible.

Not necessarily.

If it comes from the league...I agree.

If it comes from individual coaches asking their team to not issue credentials to those reporters, I have no problem with it.

They have been TMZ for quite sometime.

Lavar being a schmo is not debatable.

His lack of credibility is not debatable.

The Coaches are using the only tools at their disposal to bring about change.

My only issue with that is making it a punitive situation for a writer who may have been told to cover the idiot.

If the times tells Ramona to cover that clown during the other kids debut and he takes a swipe at Luke, or Carlisle and she reports it, you want the Lakers to rescind her credentials?

Because, according to Sam Amico, that's what the Coaches are asking for.
