Watching the Giants game on ESPN right now, and boy it's been a clinic of hitting right now. First time through the order: Opposite field fly-out, CF line drive hit, Oppo field double, Oppo field single, Oppo field single, walk, walk against Jake Arrieta. It was beautiful hitting to watch, even in Spring. Bam Bam must be proud.
edit: After Arrieta leaves the game, Pagan comes up and hits a single to CF. Kelby then pulls the only ball of the inning and records an out. Great time through the lineup.
I would assume that they would have to remove Broadway from the 40 man anyway if he doesn't make the team.Prob with Gorkys AND Gonnor making the club is that neither are on the 40. We can 60 Gardeck, but we would still need to free up one spot.
DFA Broadway?
I have not seen Broadway on any "out of options" lists, so I think he may still have an option.I would assume that they would have to remove Broadway from the 40 man anyway if he doesn't make the team.
That's right. I may have confused him with Gearrin.I have not seen Broadway on any "out of options" lists, so I think he may still have an option.
Gearin is definitely out. He actually gives the org incentive to DL Cain. That's right. I may have confused him with Gearrin.
I think we need to carry an extra pitcher until the SPs prove they can carry their weight. Right now, they aren't even close.Pavs is doing some speculation today. Roll with 4 OFers, use EA as an emergency option (he's been playing some LF this Spring), with 1 backup catcher and KT and have a 13 man pitching staff. That would mean keeping Gerrin around for sure and possibly Broadway too if Cain starts on the DL.

So far in today's game with KC, Cueto has thrown 39 pitches, and 36 of them are strikes!
1 down 4 + to go.6 IP, 3 ER, 6 K, 0 BB. He's ready.

Almost like they weren't overly concerned with results before these final 2 passes through the rotation...Samardzija today
6 IP, 2 ER, 4 K, 0 BB.
Ok, that's 3 down as i'm including Peeve, 'cause he did go 2+clean innings last start.
Nothing like a little preseason pantshattery.
I can't speak for phlap, but fir me personally, it does not concern me. It is PRACTICE. If we had spots open to competition, then maybe. But our rotation was set coming in. Production was not the concern.Well, it is Spring Training for us, too. Gotta get in shape for the season. And my box of Depends came today from Amazon.com, so I am ready.
Glad to see Cueto and Scrabble do well in back to back games. (Last night's Dodger fiasco where we gave up two touchdowns doesn't count.)
Still, the collective ERA of the starters being 10+ doesn't concern you even a tiny bit? :P
It concerned me a lot, hence the fecal reference. I had never seen this team's pitching so bad so late. We were at the bottom of nearly every team pitching stat just a couple of days ago and maybe still.Well, it is Spring Training for us, too. Gotta get in shape for the season.
