Hargreaves reminds me too much of Mike Jenkins with those business decision tackle attempts. He may cover better, but this fan base would eat him up. Rather take the Houston corner if we go corner again. I think our order would shake out like this:
1. Ramsey
2. Bosa (unless someone offers farm for Tunsil)
3. Trade to 6-7
4. Zeke
5. Trade 8-11

interesting you post this...I've had similar thoughts if he starts that Olay BS but as you said, he's got NFL value cover skills. I still hope somehow, someway Ramsey falls to 4 and jerry is smart enough to take the player. I expect Dallas will plug him at corner which IMO is a waste to a degree cause I really think Ramsey is this games next strong safety super star. It was funny in yesterday's Jerry draft conference. Jerry pointed out that it was a nice problem when the knock on him is he got kicked outta practice at FLA State for being to ruff with his teammates. Hopefully that was telling for wildcatter jerry, and Ramsey is on the board at 4

Plus, it was in 2014, he was still making a name for himself. Can't fault him for going all-out at practice. Only negative I'd say to him is you never should try to hit your QB.

That comment made me think Ramsey may turn out to be the next Roy Williams. Not sure Roy would be able to make it in todays game, not with the "ooohh" factor hits he made that draw flags today.

Cowboys CB Brandon Carr Agrees To Pay Cut
32 mins ago Cowboys 0 Comments

Albert Breer is reporting that Cowboys CB Brandon Carr has agreed to a pay cut to remain with the team.

Previous reports mentioned that Dallas wanted Carr to take a pay cut and agree to reduce his $9.1 million salary for the 2016 season, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

According to Breer, Carr’s 2016 base salary is now expected to be under $6 million following the pay reduction.

Carr wound up benefiting from the Cowboys inability to sign either Nolan Carroll or Patrick Robinson.

Keeping Carr at a reduced rate was likely their best option at this point in free agency. However, had they released him outright, Dallas would have ran the risk of losing Carr to another team who may have been willing to pay him around $5-6 million.

Carr, 29, was in the fourth year of his five-year, $50.1 million contract that included $25.5 million guaranteed. He was set to make a base salary of $9.1 million for the 2016 season and another $10 million in 2017.

In 2015, Carr appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 76 tackles, a fumble recovery and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 73 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
With this move, I wonder if we are going to make an attempt to add a QB (Hoyer) before the draft.

Ramsey is in the mold of Cam Chancellar, but with more speed, less hitting power. Roy was out of touch in the NFL because he was not fleet of foot. That is not a problem this guy has.

If Roy Williams could cover like we expect Ramsey to, he would have actually earned those Pro Bowls...

I think Ramsey would be a great FS (moreso than SS) if a team chooses to play him there, but I think his spot is going to ultimately be CB. Long term for us it more than likely comes down to which of the two plays CB better and I think that is why Ramsey would be at CB and Jones at FS.

But one of the great aspects of Ramsey is you can play him anywhere in the secondary. He could play anywhere from in the box, or slot to deep center fielder and should be able to handle WRs and TEs. He would allow us year 1 to just get him on the field while we are figuring out how things shake out long term. Maybe Scandrick isn't 100%, maybe we replace/cut Church, maybe we cut Carr, maybe Jones falters...whatever happens he will play day 1 for this team and should be a playmaker even if he struggles a little to adjust like most rookies do.

Damn I'm going to be disappointed if we don't land Ramsey.
If it were my choice I'd pick Ramsey if SD doesn't, but there are so many options for us that I can't imagine being disappointed. If the team likes a guy like Bosa or another pass rusher better so be it. I would be a little less enthusiastic about any offensive player, but again the draft is long and we have a lot of picks to improve the defense. We need more talent than we currently have and with health, a few good picks and our weak schedule I think we will win the division.

Crazy thing is, I wouldn't be disappointed if we chose Zeke. Two of the worst position groups on our team last year was strong safety and RB. We are getting a good corner back in Scandrick and at some point we will have our idiot DEs back in the fold. So I am not set on using #4 on either of those. I'd rather wait until later in this draft for that.

I think the only way I'll be disappointed is if we get Bosa at 4. I just have no appetite for another block head defensive line guy. We are drafting #4, but essentially higher because of the trades into #1 and #2 to get QB's. The actual best player in this draft is probably going to go #3.

We have GOT to get a franchise, impact player at that pick. Get this one right, and have a draft similar to the last couple of years and we won't be drafting here because of record any time soon.

I really like Ramsey and think he will be a really good player but not just at CB. FS or SS should be included also that would leave Jones moving 2 but if they are interchangeable that's all the better or Ramsey at SS when needed that's versatility that would drive the DC nuts

However if I can have Zeke with a trade back to say 7 with SF and take a SS like Karl Joseph in the 2nd I would make that choice to have that as the picks with Maybe a DE falling to the 2nd with the trade a 3 for 1 I take those odds if it does not work out I honestly believe that we will have the best running back to wear a Dallas uniform since Emmitt

Maybe pick up Zach Sanchez in the 3rd things are looking up with my blue tinted glasses :suds:

but shoot it could go any ways to Sunday different and still be good

if ramsey is gone i would rather have tunsil than bosa. I like bosa better as a 3 tech than a de. bosa looks like a potential bust to me. you can argue that we already have all the money tied up in ol, but drafting for need has burned the cowboys over and over.

You aren't the only one feeling that. I'd be ok with drafting Tunsil, the question is where do we play him? We just paid Tyron, and I know Smith could be hurt. I think if Ramsey goes at #3 we should trade down. If we stay in the top 10 we could still get a guy we really want.

Jerry when asked about Bosa's off the field issues: "His character issue would not be a factor in this draft"

Cause nobody's character issues come into play when that dipshit decides he wants a certain player. Thus we have players that get 4 game suspensions and are a positive test away from year long suspensions:doh:

Hard to argue with that logic...
