Dinardo once again hates Tommy as a passer.

I've seen them do this show every year since they joined the B1G and this is by far the least enthused/impressed I've seen them be about our squad.

Dinardo and Weinerstead think this team is good for 7 or 8 wins and try to win a bowl game.

So a bunch of failed coaches hate our squad and think Tommy is average as fuck.

I also agree that Tommy is average as fuck, but this team is better than 8 wins.

The receivers were basically an afterthought in their analysis of the team even though they pointed out they're the most talented and deep group on the squad. They basically said that there's no one to get them the ball.

Said the defense is going to be straight up ass this year and will have to keep it simple with a bend don't break against teams we're supposed to beat and then gamble with blitz packages in big games.

Funny enough once again the other strongest group on the team (the LB's) were an afterthought because of how worried they were about this team generating a pass rush and the looming questions about our shit show of a secondary.
Yet I can't counter any point of it. It's hard to hear and read about his conclusions but it's even harder to see on the field

Like a slow motion car crash.

I'm gonna make good use of the meltdown thread this year I can feel it.

yea, i just got through the episode myself. dinardo saying a winning season is the goal, howard saying could be in the ship. quite a wide range there, but i can't disagree with either of them. I think Dinardo seemed real disappointed the practice wasn't more physical. i'm actually excited they said we looked like crap, it seems like the past several years they have always liked NU at practice and then the results weren't that great on the field, some motivation for our guys to beat some ass out there.

i do think the O will have to carry us, DL and MR need to get that crap together so TA isn't hurting out D with turnovers. get the ball to all the playmakers as the BTN guys said. limit the mistakes, let tommy run.

as far as the D, i think we got a good back 7 and we aren't exactly starting over on the DL between Freedom, Maurice and Dzuris. if the young guys can log enough good minutes to spell those guys, I think we got a decent shot to be good. obviously injuries there could be a big problem.

Outside of missing a Dallas Cowboy and a New England Patriot...

The player I'm most excited about this year is Tommy.

Ye fellers can take your worries and cram 'em. Tommy Armstrong is going to deliver in his Senior season.

Man I remember back in high school when I was a Junior. I was a really talented basketball player, but I made a lot of stupid mistakes on the floor.

That changed my Senior season when I suddenly realized my opportunities had run out. When it's your last chance your mindset changes. I can't wait to watch Tommy lead this team this year.

we have 3 guys on the DL with significant playing time last season and a 4th that got some action, even if it wasn't much. is it ideal no, but i wouldn't call it starting over. the young guys are hungry and as long as they aren't getting blown off the ball and can hold their own so the LBs can make the plays against the run that would be ideal.

generating a pass rush is the next thing, but i personally wouldn't mind sacrificing an LB in coverage to do that, because i think our DBs are going to be better this year.

oh and back to AJ. i don't blame him for leaving. dude left with class and i wish him the best.

only real downside is now it's not as clear that POB redshirts. him getting more reps on the scout team would have been good i think, but now he'll more than likely travel so he gets that experience. he can obviously still redshirt even if he's the 3rd string as long as he doesn't play. curious if there is any thought on if it would happen that both Armstrong and Fyfe go down late in the season, they look to Darlington just to not burn POBs redshirt.

I'd really like that to be the case, in the past howevere he would cover that number by the thyme we hit conference play

Tommy Armstrong Interceptions

2013 = 8
2014 = 12
2015 = 16

Tommy Armstrong Tds

2013 = 9
2014 = 22
2015 = 22

Based on the history, and Tommy improved from 2013 to 2014. He threw 50% more INTs in 2014 compared to 2013. He threw 145% more TDs in 2014 compared to 2013

16 * 1.5 = 24
22 * 2.45

2016 Prediction

Interceptions = 24
TDs = 54
yards passing = around 9,000
average per game = 650 assuming a 14 game season

Single Season record = 5,833 by BJ Symons

That should get Tommy in the Heisman hunt. Serving gallons of Koolaid down the hall and to the right.
