Report: Former Padres All-Star joins Giants' coaching staff

nevin played under bochy in sd. from what i can remember he has a little bit of an edge to him, 'red-ass' in the vernacular. i'd like to see a little fire out there on the base paths.

Yeah I've heard he has a competitive spirit.

In 2013, he mentioned that Bruce Bochy was the manager who had the greatest impact on him. Said in his later playing days in SD, he was on the bench a lot, on the DL a lot, thinking about his post-playing days and he would watch what Bochy would do. He learned from Bochy.

So it's a nice little reunion for the two.

Krukow is one of 8 finalists for the Ford C. Frick award.

Bill King and Hawk Harrelson (!?!?!?) are also finalists.

I know it doesn't work this way, but Kruk really should get in WITH Kuip. The two of them are too much of a team to go in individually (even though they both WILL make it eventually).

I like Kuip better than Kruk anyway, hopefully it's not awkward.

Bill King was the best NBA announcer I ever listened to. Simply awesome.

I this year is a slam dunk for King.

Kruk is awesome, and will get it eventually, but it is still early for him.

While I thought Craw deserved it, I was CERTAIN that's it was going to go to Russell. I am shocked.

Could the Gold Glove be gaining some respect?

I like Panik's D, but I was not expecting him to pull this in. Very nice.

Buster was a no brainer.

I was able too listen to Bill King and he was great at whichever sport he broadcast.

I think Kruk and Kuip are awesome together and there was a time when Kuip broadcast without Kruk and he was very very bland Kruk is the kid who gets together with the quite kid and gets the quite kid in trouble...Hahahaha
I think Kuip would be forgettable without Kruk for the most part although after having listened for many years some of Kruk's shtick is a bit long in tooth but not terrible.

He will either stay in Chicago or go back to the Spanks. It makes sense to "kick the tires" and to even get into serious talks. But we won't sign him. I expect us to take 2nd in the rumored dealings.

Why does this post make me think we end up signing Chapman?
