Free agent CB Antonio Cromartie is expected to sign with either the Jets or Cardinals on Wednesday.

And then there were two. The Jets seem to be the slight favorite given what Cromartie has said in recent interviews, but their need at cornerback isn't as great as it was 24 hours ago after signing both Darrelle Revis and Buster Skrine. Cromartie and Revis played together in New York from 2010 to 2012 and it's very possible they could be reunited by the end of the day.

Group 1 - Knighton and Williams. Group 2 - Melton and Mosley???

Pretty much think we need one from each of those groups so we can go o-line in the draft.

Lions targeting G Justin Blaylock

The Falcons cut Blalock in February because he doesn't fit new OC Kyle Shanahan's zone scheme. A power-blocking mauler, Blalock would be better suited to clear holes in Detroit. He turned 31 years old this past December. Mar 8 - 9:42 PM

Not sure Blaylock fits what we do either especially at LG. At RG I could understand. Not opposed to it though. Better than Sims IMO. Lombardis scheme seems to me requires bigger lineman instead of faster ones.

As far as Browner goes, We may have to move some money around. He probably wants 4-5 mil per year. I would be good with bringing him in. I think he fits Austin's scheme. We could also use an early round pick on CB.

I want Mosely back. I know some of you don't think much of him, but I think he is a perfect fit. I think we draft a DT as well.

I would be talking with Henry Melton's agent as well. He is now two years removed from the injury and should come cheap.

Low cost with high upside. Give him a deal just like he had in Dallas. They paid him little of nothing in the first year but he had a nice option he could earn in year 2 if he got back to his pre-injury form. Maybe he's like two shots at the Bears as well.

I'd do it if I were the Saints. Bucs, not so much. If the team isn't ready to win it all in the next year or two, giving up the future to make 2 playoff appearances isn't worth it.

I agree. Haven't heard any updates since.

I think I would go with Tramon Williams at CB at this point and try to get two years out of him. He might be cheaper than Browner. If they got Blaylock, I wouldn't even draft a o-lineman unless it was a guy who would take over the LT spot.

Bradley Fletcher. Could be a great #2 to Slay for the next several years. Browner is a legit #2 CB as well. He can really jam and press. I'd be fine with Tramon Williams, he's not a bad CB (used to be damn good), but in all honestly Mathis has been the much better CB the last two years. I'd take one more year out of him like his last two than I would two more out of Williams like his last two seasons...

Although Fletcher had a horrible last few games this year, so maybe there's consistency issues since he wasn't very good for St. Louis a few years ago, either...

I like all three. I just like that Williams knows how to find the ball. Between him and Mathis, I think coverage is about the same but Williams offers a slight upgrade due to age and playmaking ability.

I'm not sure I agree that William's coverage has been on par with Mathis' the last two years. Williams used to be really good, but he's fallen off over the last 3 years (ish). He's still a capable starter, but Mathis has been a legit top-20 CB since he's been with us, and Williams hasn't matched that level of play...

I think I would rather have Browner only because we could use him as shadow for teams TEs in obvious Pass situations. We still are not great at that. He can still play corner too so we could move guys around if needed.

Umm..I think you're selling him a little to high but he has been good. BUT...if he is thinking the same way as you, he wont be as cheap as before. Even though I wouldn't mind, I still see some risk in that kind of investment. Mathis is 35 and may have lost a step. I think the odds of him playing at a high level again lower than I would like. Plus, we dont need a one year contract, we need a guy that at least gives us three considering the situation. Williams can do that, Imo and Browner.

I had a terrible thought yesterday too. I actually thought about bringing Delmas back as a situational guy back there. I personally think the Lions need to either get more talent in the secondary or get really creative to be contenders. They could throw Delmas in and have Quin down covering TEs sometimes. I think that would be an effective nickel package also.
