Heh, that's how I got my fix while I was giving up SportsHoopla for Lent.

OT....... I will be going to the Brewers/Pirates game on April 10th. It is my anniversary gift from my wife. Trying to pick seats now, going to stop at the box office on my way to work tomorrow and pick them up. Trying to decide where to sit isn't as easy as it should be.

Kimbrel to the Padres, its gonna be tough for the NL central to get a WC team with the Pads loading up and 2 dregs in the NL east.

RF is the best spot in the park, IMO. Raised up above the field enough to get a great angle of play on the field, and the grass looks unreal. Not the greatest view if you are interested in watching the pitcher though.

I've actually been done for two years with taking classes, but teaching this semester actually has been really rough. It's a lot more than I'm used to doing, my assignment having changed for the first time in two and a half years. But I'm almost to the finish line, and my research is finally working a little bit, so hopefully I've only got a year or two left.

Unfortunately for me, 4 PM is the worst possible start time, though I should be able to catch a bit of the late innings between finishing up my sixth hour of teaching and going to seminar. But yeah, the Pens have been a huge disappointment, and honestly, baseball always just matters so much more to me anyway, so I cannot wait for the season to get going. I've been trying to go to as many UA games as possible just to get my fix.

i hope they are sending holdzcom down to be the closer at AAA and groom him for the closer role if melancon gets expensive soon. he or caminero seem to be the likely candidates and dont see another in their system as they traded black and others who were potentials.

I usually try to tuck in behind the Pirates dugout. Somewhere from section DB121- DB123. But they still have a few seats behind home plate, so I was thinking about that as well.

I ended up getting 2 seats in 121 on the end of the row. 4rows up from the Pirates dugout, I've sat in the area before and it is a good view, now let's hope for some lefty/lefty matchups so some foul balls come my way.

I'm cheap, I prefer the left field upper deck for the view, and I usually get the last row so I can stand when I want without bothering anyone, plus it's shaded and breezy on those hot summer days. 327 is a good section.

No, never got one. Last year though I sat in section 124 and both of my boys got their gloves signed by Cutch. That is about it for me and swag from games. I am always hopeful for a foul ball though. I have never even had one come to my area.

Melancon is not a closer and he doesn't fit that role. He didn't fit it last year either. He simply gives up way too many hits, doesn't have enough stuff, throws too many pitches over the center of the dish, and relies too heavily on the cutter. Poor Kang last night had the huge bases clearing hit and is a hero until Mr blown save comes in again. They need to quit this closer stuff. You don't need to have one person get the save every time. They should just put the best pitcher for the situation in. It's so simple.

Last year Melancon had a 1.90 ERA, gave up the fewest hits and fewest walks per IP of any reliever on the roster, and only 2 HRs (the fewest by far of any reliever), and had 33 saves in less than a year's work. Yeah, he didn't fit that role last year.
