Well before trade #Leafs did offer pending #UFA Franson a contract ext in ballpark of 14m over 3 yrs. Clearly not in his ballpark.

Will be interesting to see if he re-signs with the Preds or test free agency. At any rate, Nashville is going for it (good for them).

I was hoping for a bit higher of a first rounder for Franson, really thought LA could use him, but I'm good with this. Leipsic is small but skilled, rather him than a second round pick. Jokinen's a door stop at this point.

Good trade for both teams, I think - Leafs get a solid prospect and a first round pick(albeit if Nashville makes a deep run it's low, but still a first regardless) and the Preds really load up big time

I feel a little bit bad for Olli, he's played on some pretty bad teams for most of his career and then he finally lands with a Stanley Cup contender and then he's sent packing to Toronto. Of course, he's also made a ton of money playing hockey so it's not all bad.

Calgary was dealing with the Kings for Richards but they couldn't come to a deal. Maybe they come in for Bozak.

Should've traded him last summer. He's so far removed from his peak value. Maybe a playoff bubble team will give the Leafs their 2016 first rounder.
