The thing I don't understand from Buffalo's standpoint in this deal is why did they give a 1st & Armia? For a rebuilding team to give up a 1st round pick in a deep draft & a kid they took 16th overall is surprising to me. The Sabres are even picking up half of Stafford's remaining contract this year.

The 1st rounder belonged to the Isles or Blues and is conditional on which one goes furthest. Jets get the last one.

Stings less, it's not a lottery pick.

It's Lemieux that gets me more than Armia. Putting aside what was mentioned about Claude saying Brendan would never sign in Buffalo, I think he's a better prospect. I also don't think Armia has developed as well as hoped. Regarding his draft position though, I think that's a function of the 2011 draft more than anything. Still a lot of young guys there obviously, but look who was drafted around him. Pretty thin pickings.

Enroth to Dallas for Lindback and a conditional 3rd rounder - Tim Murray is taking all the fun out of the trade deadline (lol)

Edit: The conditional 3rd round pick is for the 2016 draft.

According to what somebody posted in the other thread, Lemieux wasn't going to sign in Buffalo. They got something for what was going to turn into nothing eventually.

I don't know the rules here, but wouldn't they have gotten a compensatory pick somewhere along the way if he refused to sign?

Enroth is loads better than Lindback, IMO.

WTF is he doing?

Enroth is UFA after this year. Probably hoping to re-sign him in the offseason. Either that or Enroth already told him no way in hell.

Yeah, just saw in the other thread that both are UFA, thought Enroth was at least signed for next. So this is a "lose now" deal.

I will say that I like Murray trolling the Jets a little bit too. Makes the big deal with them then turns around and helps one of the teams chasing them upgrade their goaltending position.

Yes, they would've received a second round compensatory pick, but they would've missed out on a prospect with two years of development under his belt.

its at least a 3rd rounder ... condition is if Enroth wins certain number of playoff games it improves

at least a 3rd rounder for a guy who wasnt going to re-sign ... not too shabby

Hey Tim, you've helped out the Jets and the Stars today, how about sending the Flames Tyler Ennis for Deryk Engelland?

Fun fact: Anders Lindback is an anagram for Ransacked Blind

@willesonsports reporting the Canucks made offer to Jets for Kane, but wouldn't include Bo Horvat, Jake Virtanen or Jared McCann

Sbisa straight up didnt work :pout: onwards and upwards
