There's also the possibility that hockey in Brooklyn falls flat on its face and this team is dropping the puck in Quebec City in three years' time.
Thank you, fortune teller/accountant.
Guess you missed these two posts:

I still think that's possible. New owners, you never know.Well their lease with Barclays has a 5 year mutual opt out clause. So that gives Nassau County 5 years to renovate the arena. It's a hail mary, but crazier shit has happened.

Given the financials of Nassau County I highly doubt it. I'd like to see it, but I doubt it
I sure know Long Islanders are going to miss them. Especially after the season they've had so far. Barclays is about 20 plus miles further from the Coliseum. It's enough to have to develop newer fans because most people in Suffolk or Nassau won't be going to the amount of games they are this year. I hope it works out but a big part of me hopes they end up back on Long Island after 5 years.

You would be shocked at how many New Yorkers do not know this. Then you ask them "So, when do you cross the bridge from Brooklyn/Queens to LI?" and the look of puzzlement on their faces is gold.Brooklyn is technically part of Long Island.
Also the arena isn't made for hockey...I don't think the Isles will move, but I don't know that Barclays will work.
You'd be surprised how much it takes to shock me these days. You would be shocked at how many New Yorkers do not know this. Then you ask them "So, when do you cross the bridge from Brooklyn/Queens to LI?" and the look of puzzlement on their faces is gold.
The crummy part...but you're right. Haven't been since my wife's grandparents passed awayBrooklyn is technically part of Long Island.

As Robert Heinlein said, "Never underestimate the power of human stupidity."
So they won't move, but Barclays won't work?
Botterill on the scouts list for CBJ-BUF. Interesting.
