What little I read, Choo really put a lot of pressure on himself last year, and his ankle did him no favors.

I look for him to have a very nice bounce-back season, and hopefully make us all forget 2014.

And this is where our opinions diverge. I do not live and die by WAR, but to ignore entirely is pretty foolish IMO.

That seems to be a hallmark of those who believe in WAR. They seem to think those who don't have to be foolish not to. I get that almost every time I mention that I am not a believer.

I agree. I think he will have a nice season in 2015.

My point is this:

That's not really a point. Just a general observation. If you were trying to make a point in that statement, make it. Otherwise, I don't see the point of the statement.

There were no hidden meanings or anything surreptitious in what I said. I meant what I said and I said what I meant. I wasn't trying to qualify it as a point or an observation. If you want to qualify it as a general observation then knock yourself out. General observation it is.

I certainly would not have minded seeing Texas snatching him up.

So there goes the Shelby Miller & the Jason Heyward ideas...

I hold Martin in high steed, but we have many other areas of greater need IMO to play in that financial arena.

That is a good example of the shortcomings of WAR in my opinion. Whoever weighted the factors involved in that formula has a much different opinion than I do about how much importance each factor should have. Some folks live and die by WAR, but I don't pay attention to it. It is an interesting theory, but I don't buy into it.

I don't live or die by it either which is why I gave his OBP, HR's, and 2B's.

I'd like the Rangers to add to the baseball news today. JD and Preller and/or Jocketty need to figure it out.

It doesn't appear we're one of the 6 teams to have asked for Masterson's physical. I still think he would be a good innings eater with a very high GB rate that we could possibly get on a 1-2 year deal.

I laughed at this paragraph:

The Yankees, according to the New York Post, are “intrigued” by Andrus. What’s most likely to intrigue them is the possibility of getting him at the low, low, low price of what is commonly known as a “salary dump.” That is, if the Rangers are willing to share the cost of paying Andrus, then maybe there are more talks to be had. The Rangers made that deal once. And someday they won’t owe the Yankees or Alex Rodriguez any more money.

Swear, I don't see EA going anywhere to anyone, anytime soon.

@ZuckermanCSN: Matt Purke, who was released by #Nats last week, has been re-signed to a minor-league deal with invite to spring training.
