Now that's an interesting stat there. One which I was unaware.

But I still don't see this team be a .500 team. Hope I'm wrong, regardless of how I came to the conclusion.

Should prove interesting. If they bomb him TEX could send him back and get $25k. If he does good ... he either stays as a R5 or they trade something of value for him. What to do? What to do?

Hitzges covered some facts about this guy this morning, and he feels - just like the O's felt - that Verrett is a natural for the pen, and not as a starter.

Hope he's correct, b/c I sure felt going into the off-season our BP was going to be fine. Of course I was thinking Mendez, Patton and Klein would be included in the equation.

For those of us who aren't going, the game is being broadcast on KTXA @ 8 PM.

It'll be interesting to get your take on what ya see outta Verrett, at the very least.

The Rangers team doctor, Dr. Keith Meister, was on ESPN radio. He seemed very optimistic about Prince. He also said Martin Perez was doing great and that we should expect him back around the All Star break.

Guys, I'm thinking getting a suite for a game some point this season would be very doable. I think a 10 person suite would be $500 before a meal plan, and a 20 person would be $1000. How many would be seriously interested?

Yu averages about a 4WAR and Gallardo and Holland are under WAR due in Holland's case by lost time. Between them pitching effectively and someone like Nick Martinez stepping up from #5 ... Yu's WAR can be picked up. Obviously I am spinning this ... but to be over .500 takes 81 games ... and 85 games isn't that much more.

I would come down from Arkansas. Would want to do a Frisco game on Friday night and then a TEX game Sat night of vice versa.

Holland and Gallardo were going to be pitching when Vegas first came up with their over/under number. The difference would be Detwiler or Martinez as a 5th starter instead of Yu. I think that has to cost us at least 3-4 games.

I had previously said I thought they would win 84 games, but I was ready to adjust that down to 82 anyway. Then when Yu got hurt I changed my guess to 78.

May 29-30

The last set of dates has Frisco home on the Friday, but not the Saturday. All of the rest of them have both teams home both dates.

I may be able to assist on a contact out there to get "at least" as good-a-deal as possible. Life ain't free, and we're all good with this.

But, I can at least make a call which MAY help ya some if this all comes to fruition.

May 15-16 has potential. Was already planning to come down for that pair of games with two friends from church so may be a good fit if I can talk them into it.
