And please don't get me wrong. I'm making no excuses for them or me. I was "attempting" to point out that due to a guy getting a paycheck - albeit a HUGE one - doesn't mean he still isn't a human being who bleeds like the rest of us.

I'm sounded like some CJ/Josh apologist here and I hate it. I'm moving on to the game.

I think the over-reliance on specific matchups annoys him.

Mitch being mostly useless with a bat annoys me more. He's a really nice guy and a good teammate, but damn when's the guy gonna figure it out?

Some decent things showing up in the line score. Martin with a double and walk, Beltre with two doubles, Choo with two hits I think, and Rua with a hit.

Mitch's pre ASB numbers are much better across the board for his career. He always wears down via some hamstring or other injury.

Mitch is having a good spring as meaningful as that is or not. I would have greater concern if he wasn't.

I think its very revealing that today's lineup had Choo batting #2 and Rua, Moreland and Andrus #5, #6 and #7. Wonder if the move is to find a comfortable spot for Choo? And sliding Beltre and Fielder up in the process. Interesting. Way i see it right now based on spring performance ... Andrus is the better #2 and Choo #7. Choo can't protect anyone right now.

Klein has had a rough go the last couple times out. Tepesch talk before ST about learning from his bad ST last year, have apparently not done him any favors this spring. He has stunk it up!

We have gotten what we liked. Rua and Smolinski. We like them because they provided a bright spot in an ugly season. In the past management would send the young guys we liked back down and we got older FAs on the backside of success. We liked Craig Gentry because of that too.

We don't know for sure if Rua and Smolinski are going to be great or even good. But it will be fun to watch them try.

Whether it's by his own merits or others like Klein having missteps, I really think Kela breaks camp as one of the 25.
