Just wondering if a trade was offered for Luis before we let him go? Don't recall that happening.

I'm sure he was in the conversation about Cashner and Ross before the Padres decided to be buyers in the offseason

That is one thing I really admire about our front office. You almost never hear about any trades until they are being finalized. We would probably never have heard if they did have discussions about him.

That's why I get so irritated when certain posters complain that we're not doing anything. The Gallardo trade, like most trades kind of came from nowhere.

Did anyone see Derek H. on the local dfw news tonight? He was gnawing at the bit to get started. He is leaving in two weeks for Zona. He said he has been ready to get started since the last game of last season.

At the time of the trade there was immediate speculation that the Brewers would flip Sardinas. Might very well have been a three team conversation going on and while SDP and MIL were still working out details the MIL - TEX part was finished so that deal went down. Speculating.

Double-A Frisco's ballpark set for a facelift | texasrangers.com

Not any details yet, but Chuck Greenberg said "We're planning massive upgrades to anything that has to do with entertainment."

"Greenberg said the Roughriders will also add touches to Dr. Pepper Ballpark that will make their affiliation to the Rangers more pronounced."

I miss Greenberg being a part of the Rangers. I hope he is a part of the next ownership group when the current group sells.

Matt Harrison expects to be placed on the 60-day DL to start the season. he also reported a set-back not due to his back but to mechanics

This from Buster Olney on Hope Springing Eternal in today's Insider.

Texas Rangers: This is a team that was a "Murphy's Law" all-timer in 2014, with almost as many assignments to the disabled list as victories. Prince Fielder is back and in excellent condition, Elvis Andrus' preparation has been vastly different, and let's not forget Shin-Soo Choo got on base about 300 times in 2013, and he'll be back as well. Yu Darvish might contend with Chris Sale for the title of Best Pitcher Who Hasn't Won a Cy Young Award. Book it: This team is going to win a lot more games in 2015.
