I love how about 75% of Milwaukee posters on ESPN are advocating getting Fielder in return for Gallardo b/c "they don't have a 1B"

If only Melvin was that dumb, I'd do that deal in a heartbeat, throw in Sardi just as a favor and eat the 30 million that Detroit was paying us

HaHa. That would be JD's best deal ever.

I guess Milwaukee fans are remembering the good days with Fielder/Braun. Or they are in a state of depression and cannot think rationally.

Trade to Milwaukee should have been made last year when Mitch had more value.

We should offer Doug Melvin Matt Harrison since Melvin once traded a 2 time MVP for an injured Justin Thompson. lol

I just hope Rua isn't involved, going the other way. I like what he has done in getting here, would love to see him stick and perform at a reasonably high level for Texas, on the big league club.

Not at all, but that contract is god awful, still has 6 years and who knows what kind of player he is going forward

Plus him being gone opens a place for Rua now and maybe Gallo later,

I wonder why there hasn't been any updates. Maybe Zimmerman becoming available if they sign Scherzer has something to do with it. Probably a slim chance, but you never know.

9:23pm: The Rangers have offered shortstop Luis Sardinas in several potential trades this winter, and it’s possible he could be in the Gallardo deal, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports [ame="[MEDIA=twitter]555380846962966528[/MEDIA]"]tweets[/ame]. Sardinas, 21, struggled in a 2014 season split between Double-A, Triple-A and the Majors (posting a .281 average in the minors, but with a .302 OBP and .364 OBP), but he was young for all three levels and still rates as one of the Rangers’ better young players.

I guess there was one when I poste above.

Really wasn't much room for Sardy here.

Agent Larry McReyolds told MLBTR reports of poor medicals on Alexi Ogando‘s right shoulder are unfounded. “Alexi Ogando was 92 to 93 and touched 94 at a bullpen session for numerous teams last week. After an earlier examination by Dr. [James] Andrews, coupled with his promising progression, we believe Alexi should have no problem securing a job and will be pitching on Day 1 of 2015 Spring Training.”

Exactly! Brewers have very little depth at 3rd base in their farm and they have a pretty good young SS, so they really aren't in need of Sardinas. Unless they moved him to 2nd base of course. So I hope Rua isn't offered in this deal.

Rangers do have to make a move for pitching however

The Nationals have agreed to sign top starting pitcher Max Scherzer to a seven-year deal, CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman tweets. The amount of the deal is not yet known, but the contract will carry through 2020, which will be Scherzer’s age-36 season. Scherzer is represented by Scott Boras. On Sunday, Heyman reported that the Nationals and another team were talking with Boras about seven-year deals for Scherzer, with the Washington Post’s Adam Kilgore later reporting that the two sides were close to a deal

Scherzer, Strasburg, Zimmerman, Gio Gonzalez and Fister is a pretty formidable starting 5

Scooter Gennett has been pretty good for them at 2B, but seems to be a player people lack faith in, and Segura had a pretty bad year last year, Sardi could provide pretty good depth in case either fall flat on their face
