I don't think its that he wants CJ back, its that he would take CJ back if he could get rid of Fielder's contract, simple as that

Exactly, I have very little confidence in Fielder returning to anywhere near his previous self. If I thought we could get rid of that contract for two years of CJ I would do that in a heartbeat, but I bet the Angels wouldn't make that trade. Besides, CJ might perform decently enough to trade away at the deadline so you might only have to put up with him for a few months. If that did unfold then maybe this time next year we would actually have some money to spend and wouldn't have to search the bargain bin for players.

There are two things in play that make a lot of folks disagree with me. One is a lot of folks think Fielder will rebound or at least they don't allow themselves to consider the possibility that he won't rebound. The other is that a lot of folks like to think we actually don't have the budget constraints that JD has mentioned time and time again.

I respect the hell out of CJ's ability and the work he put in to convert from a reliever to a starter but he's a douche and more importantly a mental midget. I would never want him back in a Rangers uniform.
