I'm not worried at all about kemp's injuries. Injuries are part of the game, but he's had a long time to heal. His string of injuries was all over a year and a half, and are likely over with. I mean, the same argument can be said for matt harrison. Why hold on to him this year after he was hurt all of last year?People have enough confidence to say its a thing of the past. If we didn't sign anyone because of the risk of them getting injured we would awful.

There is risk in all of these FA signings because of the amount of money and length of the contracts. You do it in hoping that the risk works out and brings you a great reward. We know what we are talking about on here and yet we don't. Yeah, confusing. But there were so many upset with the Beltre signing and even the Napoli trade. Then just when many thought Volquez was about to become a stud we traded him for Hamilton and that caused some ripples. But he was very instrumental in turning this team around until he went mental that last half of a year. We have had great trades and acquisitions and bad ones. There were even many who ripped the Rangers for the money they spent on Darvish. You just never know. And if Kemp is a Ranger and is healthy, and I admit it is not a guarantee, then look out. We would have a gem.

Risks are a part of the game as well. I think Kemp will play 140 games next year. I would rather have 140 games of kemp then 155 games of EE. Kemp is a difference maker on both sides of the field. EE is not. And as I showed earlier, Kemp has better offensive stats then EE anyway. I mean, its not even really a competition for me on who I'd rather have.

JD is not going to take that kind of risk which involves that much money

He'll take low cost risks, sure...

I wouldn't mind Ethier either, but I can just see us saying...damnit we could have had Kemp. That's when he hits .320 w/ 35 HR's next year.

Based upon past observation you are probably right. He did dish out an average of $16 mill a year for Beltre and at the time that was a decent amount. Of course now it sounds like a bargain.

2011 Kemp would be fantastic and completely worth it...2013 Kemp would be a disaster

Texas doesn't need a smasher at LF. Cost says go with the cheaper option. I don't want Kemp and never have.

LA said they'd eat some of the cost. It's 20 mil a year as it is, very friendly for his performance... We still have some money to blow. Either get Kemp, or get tanaka is all im sayin

The fact that he has spoken to them multiple times leads me to believe that if he can get them to take on the right amount of $$$ he'd pull the trigger. He wants kemp. They wouldn't have spoken so often if he didnt

It's risk vs cost. That's a ridiculous risk to take and it's unnecessary.

I agree. Especially considering Fielder IMO is a risk going fwd given his weight and the amount of years he has left on his deal.

If they get tanaka then JD better be blowing up the international phone calls to Toronto.

You may have already stated this earlier but does that mean you are out on Choo?

You can't just get Tanaka. We need bats. This line-up is filled with uncertainty. The only thing I am certain about is we will have trouble scoring, again.

Look at this lineup if we trade for Kemp.

CF Leonys Martin
SS Elvis Andrus
LF Matt Kemp
1B Prince Fielder
3B Adrian Beltre
RF Alex Rios
DH Mitch Moreland or Michael Choice
C Geovany Soto or J.P.Arenibia
2B Jurickson Profar

That team would be a ok with me

Oh, well definitely not. I'm saying get tanaka and trade a starter

You can't just look at one season that a player played less than 100 games and wasn't healthy and say that the dude isn't likely to stay healthy
