Since Matt Kemp has been an everyday player, he has only had one season of less than 100 games. But as I said before, just because he has had trouble with injuries over the past season and a half, doesnt mean I'm ready to say that he gets hurt all the time. He is a damn good player. And I would much rather have an all around good defender, decent speed, and a FANTASTIC hitter then just a great hitter. Without a doubt, that would be my preference.

I agree with this 100%

Baylor and Central Florida? Is that the reward for winning the conference? That is a no win situation.

UCF is a damn good team. I would not be surprised to see a UCF win. Plus the AAC has to play somebody since they're still an BCS conference for now.

They might do both. Price isn't signing an extension so he won't cost a fortune for 2 years. The M's are willing to blow money for a chance to contend.
I would hate for that to happen. Even for just two years.

Kemp is a better hitter than encarnacion anyway. You're talking about a career .265 hitter vs a .293 hitter. Their OBP is virtually the same, Kemp at .350 and EE at .348. Kemp is gonna steal more bases. The only thing EE has on him is homeruns, as a DH should. Cmon now. Its not hard to see who the more valuable player is.

So I take it JD is not concerned with Kemps injury history?

Does not have the wow factor. Like I said it is a lose-lose situation for Baylor. UCF may be really good and if Baylor loses people will just say look at how lousy the BIG 12 is and if they win people will say they should be able to beat UCF. By the way, the BIG 12 is not great but neither is almost every other conference. Just wish they were going against a known big name team just to test their mettle.

My preference is still Choo to give us an OF and lead off hitter with some pop and Morales as DH since he is a switch hitter and I am sure he will cost less than Cruz. But the price is getting so high that the Kemp contract is going to look good after the dust settles.

Im ok with Choo or Kemp either one but don't want Morales can you imagine Fielder,Beltre and Morales as our 3,4,5 hitters a turtle can run faster then those three.I take it back a mudslide would out run all 3 of them.

Kemp is 100 percent right now and has been for awhile. Jd and Coletti have spoken multiple times about it, so I assume he's not worried about him getting hurt again.

They are not a bunch of Benji's running around the bases. And how fast do you have to run trotting around the bases on a 4 bagger?

Exactly wasting. Baylor should be given a big name team to play. Not only is it a slam at Baylor but the Big 12 also.

I'm not worried at all about kemp's injuries. Injuries are part of the game, but he's had a long time to heal. His string of injuries was all over a year and a half, and are likely over with. I mean, the same argument can be said for matt harrison. Why hold on to him this year after he was hurt all of last year?People have enough confidence to say its a thing of the past. If we didn't sign anyone because of the risk of them getting injured we would awful.

I find it odd that the Dodgers would trade Kemp, much less absorb some of his salary, considering the Dodgers are the epitome of a win-now team with seemingly endless financial resources.

You know that they will put him through a thorough physical before anything was finalized.

He should be made to play in front of the scouts for that kind of money, I don't care what Coletti says, if he was so healthy, they'd be moving Either

I can't see JD doing this

It's risk vs cost. That's a ridiculous risk to take and it's unnecessary.

You cannot make that promise. You guys are being silly. You know what you are going to get with EE for a lot cheaper.

Risks are a part of the game as well. I think Kemp will play 140 games next year. I would rather have 140 games of kemp then 155 games of EE. Kemp is a difference maker on both sides of the field. EE is not. And as I showed earlier, Kemp has better offensive stats then EE anyway. I mean, its not even really a competition for me on who I'd rather have.

Exactly, if he's so healthy, they trade Either...I just posted that.
JD won't do it, luckily

I agree whole heartily Terps i would love to get Kemp i think that could be a huge pickup.I think Kemp would fit on this team perfectly great hitter good defender that can play all three outfield position's with some speed.I hope we hear that trade going down in the next few days
