They are, I looked before I posted that

Houston
Miami
ChiSox
Twins
Cubs
Seattle 6th worst record

Anyways, it looks like they've already sacrificed their 2nd rounder.

As things stand, the Mariners and Mets also stand to sacrifice a pick (both of which will be second-rounders), while the Cardinals, Red Sox, and Braves are each in line to gain a compensatory selection.

I'm just waiting for Seattle to get fleeced by TB in a Price trade. Friedman is a damn genius, how has no major market team pried him away yet?

JD feasts in that compensatory round

Remind me, what did they sacrifice a 2nd rounder on?

So Tanaka's team is going to ask him to stay. Well fuck you. You are going to hinder his ability to go to the best league in the world, because you aren't happy enough with 20 million? yeah fuck you....

Cano for Ms and Grandy for Mets, right?

He said already sacrificed their 2nd rounder, if he meant on Cano, thats not the way it read

Not sure on the Mets since they were in like a 6 way tie with 88 losses which would put one team at #11

Mariners essentially give up a 2nd rounder/sandwich pick to Yankees, who gain also gain one from the Mets, but lose one of those to the Red Sox for Ellsbury, but then lose it to the Cardinals for Beltran....?

Lots of sorting out to do there

Mets --> Yankees (Granderson)
Mariners --> Yankees (Cano)

Yankees --> Cardinals (Beltran)
Yankees --> BoSox (Ellsbury)

so essentially the Yankees break even?

I would do the same if I was Ratuken. MLB wants to change the rules the one time they have a great player to cash in on, so fuck MLB. They can reap his benefits for this season and post him next year. they'll get the revenue this season and still get $20 million next

20 Million is a lot of money. Holding Tanaka back from the best league in the world because you are bitter is weak sauce. Why wait a year just to take the same 20 million? Makes no damn sense. I hope Tanaka goes. It's his choice.

Technically its the choice of the team whether or not to post him, if the team refuses to post him, its out of the player's hands, I guess he could technically refuse to play but that's about it

It is not his choice, he's property of Ratuken. I think he'd help Ratuken's revenue in attendance and memorabilia sales, so they can make that money this year and still get $20 mill next. Weak sauce or not, it comes down to money and this way they'd make more money.

I know the rules. I am saying I hope it's his choice. The dude deserves a shot to play in America.

No it's not. As long as the club owns rights to him it's their decision to post him.

Michigan St has action bc of its defense...Duke is just happy to be there.

Correct on both counts. And although I love seeing the BCS in chaos I don't want to see AL win another championship. Don't want Ohio St to win either though. Tired of their whining.

Ultimately up to him. They are only whining about the rule change because it affects them. This is what is best for the players and NPB as a whole. I would support him if he did a NFL style hold out.
