Sounds like due diligence to me. JD never seems like the guy to let one signing throw him off his plan. However I would need new pants if Texas ever pulled of a trade for EE. I want that dude as Texas' DH and have for a while.

I would love having Encarnacion on the team, but I'm pretty sure AA is going to want a strong package for him because of not only his good numbers but his extremely favorable contract.

Taijuan Walker and Nick Franklin is a good start.

I see where Walker in his short stint at this year k'd 12 in 15 IP and is just 21. And Franklin is just 22. If that is a start and there are others thrown in then Tampa would be smart to take it. I am glad we did not want to give up any of our young guns.

And I can say that he called the phillies about dominic brown. That's all I got. It was a series of texts that I couldn't even respond to, but I'm just imagining some things with the teams that he called and it looks like he's going for the players that people haven't really asked about yet. My prediction stays strong. The next big trade JD makes will be one that we haven't really talked about.

This is the part that reminds me of Moneyball. Throwing stuff out there and having it come back and talking to multiple teams.
