Yeah, Choo would be a terrific fit here. But Cruz may work out in the end. He's family, and if playing here, he might, just might, come back and try to do "some making up" if you know what I mean?

Gzee, who knows what rabbit Mr JD has yet to spring on us?

But so far, so good in late Nov.

I've grown out of hoping for home town discounts.

Projected as is lineup.

Leonys -- CF
Elvis -- SS
Fielder -- 1B
Beltre -- 3B
Rios -- RF
Moreland -- DH
Soto -- C
Profar -- 2B
Gentry -- LF

This will not be the lineup on opening day. I mean if it is, then we will be 3rd in the division.

Sure, but I think power expectations are different. Elvis hits for almost no power. Sure he laces some doubles in the gap, but because he's such a stellar defender at short nobody really cares. A little more is expected of second base in the power and run producing department. A guy who hits less than 5 homers a year at second based is criticized more than a short stop.

Didn't Profar hit 6 HRs as a part time layer last year?

I've grown out of hoping for home town discounts.

The fact he bailed for the last 50 last year and thus assured us of finishing outta the race is a final notice on discounts I suppose.

Don't blame him at all really. The harsh realities of generational, financial gain has to be recognized and accepted.

Gzee, you and me buy $1 lotto tickets hoping to win $4 mil and these guys makes enough in a career to buy several Latin American countries. It's rather astounding actually.

I want referring to profar specifically. Just making a general point about the offensive expectations of a short stop versus a second baseman.

Listen, if it came across as rude I've talked with the person involved. But I'll make no apologizes to you.

Go get puke somewhere else.

when you tell someone to go to hell for virtually no reason, you run the risk of being called rude...:noidea:

I accept your apology, thank you.

edit, I think I see what happened, no worries

Yes. And 6 as a part time, everywhere player as well.

It would not at all surprise me to see him whack 12-13 this upcoming season. Not necessarily predicting it, but wouldn't be taken aback with that stat at all.

we're good...hahaha.....funny because I just went back to my post, and it didn't "express" my desired communications very well. I do that sometimes.

But I have no problem with backing up, when backing up is necessary.

Again, we're good.

He didn't tell you to go to hell.

Thanks....I really didn't.....but I didn't express my thoughts very well either.

Glad you got it anyway.

But all is good with the world, right?

Gotcha, seemed like the topic was Profar and his value at 2B

I'm in the camp that thinks Profar will hit about 12-15 HRs and hit anywhere between .250 - .275, not a lot in the steals department

The after that I think he takes a big step forward

Would I be surprised if he hit .300 with HRs? a little but its certainly not a ridiculous thought

You/me/Rangers and most of MLB think/thought this kid was the best prospect in the game for 2 years.

I'm not predicting so much for this season, but think his career will reflect quite favorably for the organization he's with.

We're going to need a 3rd baseman sooner than some want to acknowledge. And we've got EA and JP to move around, with MIF coming up.

I definitely think he could hit around 15 HRs as well.

Pretty sure my contributions here outweigh any "Stupid" opinions I have, which I have yet to post one this offseason, according to everyone else.

I for one welcome any insight from your scout friend....and your opinions
it's all good
