Well, if we luck out and Holland actually can return to good form by ASB (which I'm not so sure about)
Ya just hope he can hold up until then...
Unless JD is actually going after a SP, then the question is who?

That's a good point. If Holland is back in form then we just need a stop gap until then.

actually he only pitched 97.2 innings as a starter in 18 games. he pitched 6.2 innings in 5 games as a reliever.

of the 18 starts, 9 of those were in the 1st part of the season March thru May (49.2 IP) and then he went on the DL for 3 weeks, pitched 1 game in June (5.2 IP) and went back on the 15 Day DL. 2 starts in July covering 9.2 innings, 3 starts in August covering 15.1 innings and 3 starts in September/October covering 17.1 innings.

that's barely 5 innings per start. you expect more from a starter

and i forgot to add that he went on the DL a 3rd time again in August

Scotty look at it this way. Reminds me of the Alamo. Houston did not expect Her to hold. He was buying time. I think the organization is counting on Ogando to do the same. If he can, great. If he holds up, even greater.

Ogando will probably die bloodily, but at least he'll get a middle school named after him.

:laugh3:....now, that was good.

Does everyone have their "sense-of-humor" hats on today?

Why not? What else is going on?

Boys....we need some help and soon.

Thank heavens ST is sooner than later.

Seriously, I laughed out loud at both of your quotes. Thanks

Maddux says the sky's the limit for Darvish.

He has established himself as an ace.

Daniels says it's a little too early to re-negotiate his contract but obviously that has to be done at some point with the Tanaka signing.

If Darvish wins the Cy Young this year without a re-negotiated contract I feel he will opt out of 2017 and go free agent.

Why wait?

Is Ogando the James Bowie in this? Don't really picture him the Davy Crockett/ John Wayne sorta guy.

Bc hes under contract for 3 more seasons at pennies on the dollar. If Texas was to add an extension that starts after his current deal expires, then fine. But it would be bad business to rip up a friendly contract only to pay market value, especially when you're probably only adding like 3 years (bc he's already locked up for 3 currently)
