Murray just came back from 2 sets down to beat Verdasco in 5 sets and advance to semifinals

(4-6)(3-6)(6-1)(6-4)(7-5)

I knew he wouldn't be able to finish! He allowed Murray to run down balls and float them back deep, restarting the point, and allowing Verdasco to choke! Not surprised in the least! I've seen it so many times before! He was gifted a match on blue clay last season against Rafa! Other than that, he's just 2nd and 3rd tier talent and will never win anything significant or beat the top players consistantly! :lame:

As expected, Bartoli rolled over Flipkens. Lisicki-Radwanska is going on now, and is at 2-2. Here's hoping Sabine wins. Maybe then tennis players will get the memo that pushers never win slams.

Hingis won quite a few of them.

Hingis won quite a few of them.

And then she became irrelevant once some non-pushers (Davenport, the Williams sisters, Capriati 2.0) played good ball.

I've liked Lisicki for a couple years now.

Would be happy with either she or Bartoli winning, though.

who you guys have winning tmr?

DelPo and Murray. I like DelPo winning the final. My biggest reason is how good he looked against Nole last year at the Olympics even after losing a demoralizing marathon to Fed in the semis. Plus, DelPo is playing better than he was a year ago.

Given that it's been Wimblegeddon for top seeds, I don't even want to try to guess

Djokovic has been perfection on the baseline, but JMDP has been thumping serves and has only been broken 2 times the whole tournament.

Murray has been playing well enough to win, but he's got a big thumping server in Jerzy Janowitz tomorrow. I think Murray should be able to return pretty well, and and expose Jerzy's movement.

If I had to bet, I'd bet on Djokovic and Murray winning, but I would also have bet on Nadal, Federer, Sharapova, and Serena winning their matches.

I just hope to see some great SF action tomorrow.

It'll be interesting for sure. The only edge JMDP has over Nole is the serve. Grass is the best chance he has for the serve to overcome everything else Nole is superior at, so I like JMDP's chance a lot, too.

If I'm not mistaking didn't Delpo beat Djokovic last yr at Wimbledon at the olympics in the bronze medal match?

But I believe that was a 3 set match.

Just because I want to see new players in the finals, I'm hoping for a Delpo/Janowitz finals but I think we will see Djokovic and Murray

Yeah, it was a 3 set match for the bronze medal.

Djokovic has an 8-3 record overall against JMDP, and has handled JMDP rather comfortably in every match they've played in a Grand Slam/Best of 5 format.

I said early in this thread that the only one who can beat JMDP on grass is himself. Of course I forgot that players get injured too. Djoker will be too much for a gimpy JMDP. He wont be overpowered like Ferrer was and JMDP wont be able to stay in enough rallys with that knee the way Djoker hits the ball.

Janowicz scares the bejesus out of me and could definitely beat Murray, but I think Murray is on a mission now and his return takes away Jerzy's biggest asset. Janowicz will be a top 5 player and possibly a dominant number 1 some day if he can mature a bit.

Women on Saturday will be Lisicki over fatty. She is just playing too well. She can be streaky though and needs to be careful, but as long as she minimizes the drop offs she will be fine.

And you base that on what, exactly?

Making it past the 4th round of Wimbledon 1 time in 6 appearances?

Or perhaps his zero (0) titles on grass?

I'm genuinely curious what makes you say that.

I actually find having a new woman's champion at Wimbledon rather refreshing. Every woman that puts in the many hours of hard physical work does so with the hopes and dreams of making / winning a grand slam. Now and then the skies part and that opportunity comes. Good for them and all that dare to dream big.

Be afraid; be very afraid Andy! He was not impressive, just barely making it by Youzhny! As usual he gave it away! Verdasco was guaranteed to give it all back as well! He's done it enough times! Nadal has shaken their confidence so much, they will allow top players to take matches from them no matter the lead! I've seen Feliciano Lopez 2 points away on clay against Federer, missed a sitter overhead, and it was all over! He systematically collapse and allowed Roger to win that match! Murray was very fortunate one of those losers was on the other side of the net yesterday! Anyone should have been able to finish that match off no matter how much Murray wanted it!
