Hey guys I never been to a Tennis event before. I live in NYC so I was checking out tickets for the Open.

I saw $76 ground admission for the 3rd round day session. You basically have access to every court except Ashe.

Good deal?

100% absolutely yes. It's the best value in sports, IMO.

I was at the first week of the US Open back in 2010, and the grounds pass is where it's at.

Ashe Stadium is a monstrosity. Awful. It's horrible unless you get loge seats or better. I'd recommend not even bothering. Just have fun with all the rest of the great action going on the grounds.

Tell us about your experience. I'd just make sure to get there when the gates open and get a corner seat in Armstrong. It's fantastic. Have fun.

I can't even tell you how jealous I am that you live there. It would be heaven for me every year. I stay with friends in Brooklyn whenever I'm in NYC, and the train ride to Flushing Meadow is long, but totally worth it. :)

I live close enough to make the drive in a little over 3 hours so I go for at least 1 day most years.

Armstrong and the Grandstand are awesome. Not a bad seat in the house. Cezero is right about Ashe though.

I like going Day 3 and 4. 2nd round matches so most of the dead wood is gone, but still all the courts are going. By labor day weekend it gets to be a madhouse those 4 days, but still fun.

You should also consider the New Haven Open (Pilot Pen). You could drive it in a couple hours and its like a mini US Open.

Heading to Newport right after I type this. Sort of a mini Wimbledon. I was actually trying to get tickets for Wimbledon back when I was in visiting England in the early 90s only to get shut out:Cry:

Have fun. I will probably be there for the first round only at this point.

Got back from Newport after watch Hewitt give a lesson to VJ Armitraj's son. VJ and Todd MArtin were the only former pro players I saw. Hoping that Hingis is still there Sunday:love:

I'm holding hope for Andy Murray! (unless he's injured or retired and I don't know about it)

Has everyone seen this? If not, find it and watch it.

Funny. I think you've been going to tennis events every year since then.
