We need a disciplinary committee (i.e. a panel of three or five guys). There will always be claims of preferential treatment and bias with one person at the helm.

they never had much credibility but the moment they said Nash would not get a hearing they lost whatever they had left. This league has embarassed itself in how it protects its players and game I agree with dash's idea of a committee to do this

5 guys

ex Ref
2 ex players
2 ex GMS

That's a lot of coin. The could practically run a team for that much... oh wait.

For Edler to get two for that and Nash to walk is pure, hot, stinking garbage.

They lost all credibility to me when they said Perry was a repeat offender for something that happened in 2009 and yet they said when Cooke tore Karlsson's achiles that even if they were to look at the play Cooke wasn't considered a repeat offender.

To me Mike Smith is a repeat offender

Problem with that is some out of work refs:
Frazer
Koharski

Some out of work GMs
Burke
Howson
Milbury
MacLean
Keenan

2 for Edler. Just... Wow.

I like the committee idea, but I'd rather see it be all current GMs.

Whenever there's a questionable hit, all of the GMs other than those of the two teams involved indicate how many games they'd like the suspension to be from 0 to perma-ban.

Actual suspension is the average of those numbers rounded down to the nearest whole game.

Am I missing something with the Edler hit? Is there actually any rule that says that is a penalty? Because that hit is clean as shit if Mike Smith is a skater.

Stay in your fucking crease.

Yes.

The rules are EXTREMELY clear that a goaltender isn't fair game just because he's out of the crease.

Carrie Underwood's official purse holder went through the crease without slowing up and elbowed mason in the head.

Edler got two for a hit on a goalie in the corner. So purse boy gets...

Fish is a generally decent player. I'd like to see this play.

Maybe he's so sportsmanlike that he thought that injuring Mason was a service to the Jackets.

:omg: Yeah that was beyond a joke.

I can't believe Lupol got two games & Nash got nothing. PATHETIC.

CBC (Ron MacLean) said tonight that the ruling about Nash was so right.

I've been a HUGE supporter of HNIC, but that is ridiculous. It shows a poor knowledge of hockey, at best.

I don't think I can condone this kind of pandering any more.

The CBC needs to relinquish NHL hockey unless they have massive overhauls.

i heard on the radio that they were close to a new deal. MacLean is long been a supporter of anything the refs do or the league officiates. I would not judge that. I purposefully stayed away from them for this reason alone this weekend.
