He certainly doesn't have the deep speed you look for in an outside WR, but he's a very savvy veteran who gets open and is dependable.

He can certainly be upgraded, and I like the Fuller pick. He's got a very favorable size/speed combination, and he was a great deep threat at Virginia.

Broyles can also line up on the outside as well, and despite their limited size, Mike Thomas and Patrick Edwards both have enough speed that they have to be respected as a deep threat on the outside.

We have a decent young collection of WRs, they just need to find their role in our offense now...

I do like Burleson and what he brings to the table, he's just physically limited a bit. Hopefully Fuller works out.

I would sure hope he works out! If he's a rookie 6th round pick and he's not hitting the weight room then I wouldn't expect him to last all that long...

not much bigger than Raiola. 6-3/303. But i guess it adds experience to the line. He's only 28 still

Haven't the Titans biggest weakness the past few years been their interior line?

Sedrick Ellis

I'd like for Detroit to bring in Ellis as a #3-4 rotational DT. I mean, he obviously has some talent, as he was a former top 10 pick. And given the success that we've had with later round DL, I have some faith that they might be able to rejuvenate his career, while getting him on the cheap side.

Lions signed Jake Scott too.

Could be huge if he returns to form. That should allow Rodney Austin to backup Sims on the left side now.

Dom is 6-1, 295. This guy isn't huge, but that extra length is a big asset. Dom has those stubby little alligator arms, and combined with his small size, he's just a perfect storm of the polar opposite of the physical specimen you'd want at center.

I think Harris is being brought in to be Nagy's back-up because Raiola isn't going to make the roster... :yahoo:

Looks like we signed WR (KR/PR specialist) too. We're just cleaning up on the leftover veteran market this week, apparently.

I think the Scott move was a great one. He can back up both guard and both tackle spots and gives us an experienced veteran to help the youngsters grow. Perfect guy to man that 4th tackle spot, imo, smart usage of one of the last few roster spots...

I'm liking what we have in our WR group right now- the best WR in the game in CJ, a veteran #2 in Burleson and a young developmental #2 in Fuller. Then we have 3 young slot guys in Broyles, Thomas and Edwards.

I agree that our WR group has the potential to be very solid moving forward. It's a nice mix of veterans & youth. We have the first wave (veteran group) of Megatron, Burleson & Thomas; and then the second wave (young guys) of Fuller, Broyles & Edwards. Those young guys will have to prove themselves in camp & preseason in order to fight off Kris Durham, Brian Robiskie and Devin Thomas. Competition and depth is a good thing.

Throw in Pettigrew & Bush out of the backfield and there should be no shortage of weapons for Stafford to throw to.

If Stafford is going to join the the elite QB club (and no...he's not there yet despite the 10k yards over a 2-year period), this season should be his best opportunity to do so.

Out of all the skill position players on this roster I think Ryan Broyles is the biggest wildcard and most important X-factor. If Stafford & the Lions are going to become a truly elite offense, Broyles is the key.

:agree: with myself. :10:

Now, this was a very good post if I don't mind saying so myself.

Looks like we signed veteran WR Matt Willis... can't see him cracking the final 53 man roster, but upgrading our camp depth never hurts...

Yup, and that's why he's available. Mayhew continues to work hard to try and improve roster depth but I don't see him pushing anyone for playing time. He is the Titans version of our Peterman.

We signed em all but Ellis. If we sign ellis, we will have one of the most Disruptive Dline rotations in the league. I really hope he signs here.

Ellis has been a major disappointment. He is attractive as a FA due to his potential recognized when he was a high draft pick.

I would only sign Ellis at the Vets minimum due to his track record not pay him for unrealized potential. I would still rather have Williams in the rotation than Ellis.

The Lions have been signing a lot of castoffs especially at guard. Not overly excited about any of the recent additions.
