I keep reading that the Niners are likely to get a 3rd round comp. For whom? Snyder? I don't think there's any way we get a third for Snyder, and I can't recall a team getting a third round comp except for losing a blue-chip player who got a fat contract. Anyone have more insight?

Am I the only one who's thought Star Lotulelei has been overrated this entire season?

I have him as the 3rd best DT in the draft.

Whaaaa??? are you serious? They are nothing alike Sick. Nothing.

Remember we have bragging rights on the line for combine. You said Tavon would run in the 4.3s, while I have him running a 4.48 give or take .03 milliseconds.

Who's your favourite prospect who's not expected to go in the first couple of rounds? In other words, is there a 3rd, 4th or maybe 5th round prospect you think poses great value based on where most people think he's gonna go?

Last year mine was 5th rounder Josh Chapman (who didn't play a snap because of injury). A year before that was Marvin Austin, who didn't play a snap his rookie year because of injury either (and I think he'd be much better in a 3-4 as a nose tackle).

This year my favourite is Cornelius Washington. Plays OLB in a 3-4, but I think he could contribute as a 3-4 DE because of how strong he is. I've seen him hold O-linemen who were MUCH bigger than him where they were on running plays and disengage relatively easily. Another high-ceiling kind of player because of his athleticism.

So I guess Washington is going to miss his rookie year due to injury.

2010: Preston Parker (Moderate success)
2011: Jalil Brown (???)
2012: Damarlo Belcher (Undrafted and unsigned)
2013: Jeff Tuel

Wasn't Marvin Austin projected to go in the first two rounds, and part of the reason he fell as far as he did was because he had been away from football for a year?

Two of the guys i was pretty high on last year went undrafted. Vontaze Burfict and Dwight Jones. I was high on Isaiah Pead, but he went earlier than i expected him too. Devon Wylie was another one that i thought was a nice pick up late in the draft.

I dont really have a favorite yet, but i think Jawan Jamison, Michael Williams and Datone Jones are all pretty valuable if they go around where i expect them too (4th, 6-7, and late 2nd or 3rd)

Marvin Austin did go in the first 2 rounds. 52nd overall to the Giants.

I really wish the Giants would trade that guy. :(

I know, but i thought he was projected to go in the 1st or 2nd. Your post made it seem like he was a projected 3rd-4th rounder, so i thought i would ask. I didn't know if you thought he wouldve been a good value pick in the 3-4 range or if you thought he was a steal in the 2nd.

Sorry, if im confusing you lol

Austin might've been considered a late first rounder by some before he was suspended, but most people had him as a 2nd round prospect. By the 3rd & 4th round prospects, I was asking about people's favourites in this year's draft.

Maybe you were thinking about Robert Quinn.

Let's get some thoughts on Alex Okafor. Am I under-estimating him? He did have 4.5 sacks in a bowl game against the Beavers this year.

I'm a little wary of players who rush from the left sie & have a better pass-rusher on the left side, but Jeffcoat was out for most of the season this year.

He just turned 22 yesterday, so he's pretty young for a Senior. I think he might be a reach at 31, but would he really be? Could he be another Brian Orakpo? Or is he more like a Ryan Kerrigan?

I forgot to add one to my favourites list:

Sean Porter. It's insane how low people have this guy rated. He & Cornelius Washington would make great additions to the defense IMO. Washington as an end, Porter as an OLB. Both would be great special teams players too IMO.

Also, I was pretty high on Xavier Rhodes as a FS prospect this season, but I've changed my mind. I went back & watched a video on him just paying attention to the way he moves, and me no likey. Plus he's moving up the draft boards for some reason. He's still a decent prospect, but I wouldn't take him before the 3rd round. Maybe 4th.

Marcus Lattimore is onr of my faves.. Even though he has gotten injured and th of the backfield, I think he would fitat injury was disgusting, I still think he could be a great asset for us. Can catch passes out of the backfield and I think he woyld fit well with,Kaep and Hunter anf LMJ..

My initial reaction w/ Lattimore was that he's a 6th round pick & may never play again. However, he's apparently making amazing progress. After seeing what Adrian Peterson did, that makes sense. Athletes are coming back from catastrophic injuries much quicker. I woudln't be surprised if they both took HGH to recover.

Just found out Damarlo Belcher was charged with armed robbery in November
WOW! He must have put up some serious red flags in the interviewing process to not even make a camp. Good job by NFL teams doing their digging...

What would be your feeling of him as a fellow backfield mate in our offense?

Well, I wouldn't spend a 3rd round pick on him after that injury. Maybe a 5th.

But Lattimore could be the steal of the draft if he gets back to full health. In fact, I would've taken him with the FIRST round pick if he didn't have that injury.
