This was interesting, just for the measurements alone.

NFL scouts take a look at 6-foot-10, 388-pound Terrell Brown | ProFootballTalk

For those who don't want to read it, here's a blurb:

Brown’s measurements were, of course, amazing. He had 38-inch arms (more than two inches longer than any offensive lineman at the Scouting Combine) and his wingspan is a ridiculous 92 inches, or more than seven and a half feet from hand to hand when his arms are outstretched. He ran a 5.80-second 40-yard dash and managed 22 repetitions at 225 pounds in the bench press.

Holy cow, he's huge. Too big too slow though.

He had a hammy injury during Senior bowl week so he wasn't healthy for the combine.

I don't blame him for being hurt, but I never have a final opinion about a WR or DB until he runs at the combine because pro' day speed numbers are useless.

It just makes it a harder guess to tell if he's going to be great or not. I REALLY REALLY liked him in college; I was saying sinvce last year he's the best WR in college football (when I was saying Robert Woods is vastly overrated). But he's not a speed demon; I want to know if he has good speed, average speed, below average speed, terrible speed... If he ran a 4.7 at the combine, that would be a red flag.

So basically I don't have enough information to evaluate him. That said, I have my eye on Hankins, Carradine, Hunter & Reid anyway. I do think Allen could be a Boldin kind of receover who's open eve when he's covered though. Enormous hands & great ball skills.

I think we can get him with our 4th round pick. However, I wouldn't chance it and select him with one of our thirds.

+1

Failing a couple drug tests will cause him to drop, but I still like him. He has a nose for the ball, can make timely big hits, and would be a solid replacement if Goldson is gone. He needs some refining, but you can't teach the instincts he has.

I didn't hear about the drug tests. A couple of 'em huh? That would trouble me if I were looking at drafting him. If it were one time, that would be bad enough. Multiple tests? That's a trend.

Clowney makes it official, will play in 2013

South Carolina sophomore DE Jadeveon Clowney told local media members that he will play football during the 2013 season.

"I used to play around with the boys (and say) I'm going to sit out, but ... I am going to go to school and play," Clowney said. The soon to be junior ran a 4.54 40-yd dash this winter, which is actually slower than he ran in high school, but we think the added weight had something to do with it. In fact, Clowney is up to 273 pounds from his 260 pound playing weight last year. He also took out a $5 million insurance policy in case of an injury.

Margus Hunt - DL - Mustangs

NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah said SMU DL Margus Hunt can play 4-3 DE in the pros.

Many have associated 3-4 defensive end with Hunt for the longest time, which is why this is an interesting projection from Jeremiah. Hunt is athletic and flashes knee bend but lacks consistency and is very raw. He's a big project and perhaps an even bigger risk for teams. It'll be interesting to see where exactly he's drafted.

The second one he claimed to eat brownies he didn't know had Mary Jane in them.

You may not be dreaming after all w/ Damontre Moore. He's refusing to run at pro' day, so he's standing on his terrible combine performance.

And NFL teams are not the least bit enamoured of his attitude.

I'm not doubting his talent; I'm just saying his draft stock has fallen like a rock.

That being said, Tank Carradine is a better player than he in both aspects of the game.

Tank maybe but he has health issues.. I just would like to take the BPA and not have them reach for a player. and please no names in envelopes sealed the night before!

Random note of something I never noticed: Tyler Wilson has TINY little hands for a QB. 8 5/8.

Things I Didn’t Used To Know

*Jarvis Jones’ neck injury is starting to look like it might be a non-issue on draft day, and there is little chance he will fall out of the top 10. In a medical report that was sent to NFL teams, leading orthopedist Craig Brigham refutes that Jones ever had a significant spinal cord contusion. When he was at Southern Cal, the pass rusher was diagnosed with one, and Southern Cal did not allow him to play in 2010. Jones transferred to Georgia and played two seasons with no problems. Brigham concluded that Jones either had a very mild incident of spinal cord concussion or merely a stinger that has long since resolved. Even if another similar injury occurred, Brigham concluded it would not be a career ending issue. After recently examining Jones, Brigham concluded, “Jarvis is cleared to play without restriction.”
