My real question is if it is frowned upon to have a line with 2 PF and a center. Instead of a small forward.

I know point guard and shooting guard s different positions. Same with power forward and small forward. But is there a real difference?? Or is a guard a guard and forward a forward. Is it just a height thing??

I would say it depends on the player. It's tougher to take a career SG and have him run point. You would probably get killed in this by doing that. But if a guy played both, you would get away with it a lot easier. As with PF/SF, it'd be a little easier to interchange them, as long as their bodies fit the bill. I wouldn't put a guy like Chris Mullen in the 4, but you could play a guy like Dirk at either position.

I would say it's your team, you can do with it what you want. But the guys who are voting might dock you, unless you can explain it logically.

This exercise is kind of different than others, though. For example, in the phase 10 draft, I had Barkley coming off the bench to replace Pierce at times in the 3, giving me a front line of Russell, Moses and Charles. But in this mock, there are no subs, since we have 4 sets of teams. In my example, a coach could sub for Barkley if it was hurting the team after a few possessions. Here, you are stuck with it for 12 minutes.

If it were me, I'd make sure one of the 3 played SF. If both guys are career PF's, it's hard to imagine them guarding a SF unless they are a Rodman type

Does anyone want bob pettit?? I will trade him for a PG or center.

Or a small forward or a shooting guard. Just not for a PF.

Alonzo Mourning for Pettit...?

can I make a suggestion for how we do the playoff matchups...

step1. We have to set our lines pre playoffs... the lines don't change, but the order of the lines can...
step 2. Team A sets the order he wants to play his lines
Step 3. Team B sets his order matching against team A's line
Step 4. Team A can Swap At most ONE of his lines with another line...

That works for me, but my squad is staying the same from the start of the playoffs to the finish. We could all change matchups 10 times for whoever we play, so I'm just rolling as is. No problem with anyone else switching by round though

ESPN ranks Nowitztki and Barkley ahead of Garnett. When did defense stop mattering?

I know I got killed last time for even bringing it up, but I like looking at the basketball-reference advanced stats WS, Box, and VORP...
