This is something we did at KFFL for years and it was brought to SportsHoopla in 2019 but then was not reborn again. This is the baby of a ex-KFFL-er named SilverSeahawk. I have tried to leave it in as close to his own words as possible. Sorry for the lateness this year.

Here are the slots the Seahawks are drafting in this year:

Round 1: No. 5 (from DEN)
Round 1: No. 20
Round 2: No. 37 (from DEN)
Round 2: No. 52
Round 3: No. 83
Round 4: No. 123
Round 5: No. 151 (from PIT)
Round 5: No. 154
Round 6: No. 198
Round 7: No. 237

Here's the scoring format. It's the same we've used in past years, and as always, I'm open to suggestions on it:

Right Player, Right Slot: 35 points
Example: I say that we draft Will Levis at 1(5) and it happens. I get 35 points. Historically in this contest, this has actually happened fairly often, but less often since Carroll/Schneider took over. Note: if we trade from the slot and take the projected player with that pick, you still get the full 35 points.

Right Player, Wrong Slot: 20 points
Example: I say that we draft Jake Haener at 2(52), and we select him at 3(83). I get 20 points.

Right Position, Right Slot, but Wrong Player: 10 points
Example: I say that we draft Johnny Manziel at 7(248), and at 7(248) we draft Josh Allen. They both play quarterback, so I get 10 points.

I am going to use the following positions: QB, RB, FB, WR, OT, OG, OC, TE, DE, DT, OLB, MLB, S, CB, P, PK. There isn't any need to distinguish between free safety and strong safety since they are interchangable in a lot of defenses.

If a guy is a tweener who is projected at two positions, pick one position or the other. If you get the guy right, you'll get the 35 points anyway. Otherwise, whether or not you get positional points depends on if what position you chose for that guy. The obvious strategy with that is to pick the position you think we would more likely address out of those two if the team does not select the player you chose.

Correct Trade Predicted: 15 point bonus
Incorrect Trade Predicted: Minus 3 points

Trades: This is the part that makes this really really difficult. In the past, we used the above model and it has worked well. If you predict the wrong team or compensation, you will not lose points. It is way too hard to predict that kind of thing. If you say we will trade up with the 1(20) pick and we do, you get 15 points, no matter who you said we would trade up with.

Tiebreaker rule: if two or more people tie for first place, the tiebreaker will go to the person who had a perfect pick that was latest in the draft (a 35 point type). If it's still tied, it'll go to the person who had the latest right player, wrong slot pick (20 point type).

The deadline for contest entries is the beginning of the draft (8:00pm Eastern Time). You can edit your entry any time before then. SportsHoopla tells what time posts were edited, so there shouldn’t be any problem there. Any entry that is edited after the deadline is automatically disqualified, even if that person says they were changing something else.

Used the Mock Simulator (which now requires a purchase for trades, so no trades... and it only goes through 2 rounds for free now) to know who could be available (for the 1st 2 rounds)... so I'm probably fucked, 'cause I don't see Wilson being there at 20, but oh well:

Round 1: No. 5 (from DEN): Will Anderson, DE/Edge Bama
Round 1: No. 20: Tyree Wilson, DE/Edge TT (I'm going to risk it and call a trade down here)
Round 2: No. 37 (from DEN): Zay Flowers, WR, BC
Round 2: No. 52: Luke Wypler, C OSU
Round 3: No. 83: Tanner McKee, QB Stanford
Round 4: No. 123: Byron Young, DL, Bama
Round 5: No. 151 (from PIT): Demarvion Overshown, LB Texas
Round 5: No. 154: Mekhi Garner, CB LSU
Round 6: No. 198: Jason Taylor II, S, Ok. St
Round 7: No. 237: Mohamed Ibrahim, RB Minn.

Solid, shores up the DL, gets another EDGE, and addresses ILB which I've seen SO many mocks fail to do. It's actually ridiculous how many mocks continue to ignore Seattle's probably actual biggest need. ILB.

Right now the starters? Bobby Wagner (still good last year, but played 70% of the snaps in LA, that's a BIG difference than 100% which will likely cause his play to MASSIVELY decline especially with another year of age) and Devin Bush... who had an OKAY rookie season, but has been fairly useless since due to injuries and being undersized.

I'd like to see a WR at #3 over a safety... I understand Diggs and Adams are likely gone next year or massively restructured, but as of now we're pretty secure in the secondary. We simply have too many resources committed there. BUT, I would not be upset adding depth especially since Adams is hardly reliable due to injuries and per Carroll may not even be ready to go.

Receiver is such a hard one, and maybe it is my love for Lockett that I feel father time won't catch him this season - but time will tell if taking another receiver earlier is the way to go.

I really like Skinner, but I also just feel we need another safety. If you're right and Love plays nickel - as well as Love saying Seattle told him they are wanting to play 3 safeties - the team doesn't have a backup safety. Skinner should fill the roll of back up SS well, and has versatility to play FS if needed, too. He should develop into a really good safety.

Yes, LB is way too undervalued for the Seahawks. Brooks may miss most if not all of the season - and he wasn't exactly lighting things up being the lead dog when Bobby was gone. Bobby is still really good, but he isn't Bobby - and how many more years does he really have. Bush is an unknown who may or may not beat any rookie drafted for a spot.

Again would be very happy with your draft. And if Haynes/Lewis go down (likely) then we have a center backup for Brown who can slot in at guard. The OT backups are set with Forsythe/Curhan (and Curhan never should've been playing guard anyway).

Your picks address basically all the major holes (with exception of NT but maybe Carter can fill that void).

I had another one set if we drafted Anderson and it addressed the NT position more completely, but since this is a guess the pick - I didn't want to submit 2.

Or if you're saying that you can only submit one to a site or something for cash or some reward then I get it.
