i think marvin gets another year .. an injured QB at the end of the season isnt his fault and he did get you to the playoffs

This....Cmon now,did anyone actually think Cincy had a chance with McCarron as the starter?

Hell I robably would have picked Cincy if AD was the starter.......And like someone said,Hill was the bigger goat than Burfict.

As a Bear fan,its the rivalry that also gets players heated up in these games....eh Pack fans? :mad2:

I'm not necessarily sticking up for Lewis here, just pointing out that the organisation has a long history of poor leadership.

What you say and or have read about the Bengals FO is true...they have been a cheaply run organization...this is from former Bengal players...not me.

Practice facilities, weight room, etc..still considered 2nd rate by NFL standards...I think Lewis is own record saying he wasn't going to renew unless they got an indoor bubble...I assume they have one now, but should it have come to that?

They have some rinky dink indoor facility that they can do a walk thru in. You can't run plays in it. They still have to go to UC to practice indoors. Yes, they have to go to a college teams facilities to practice indoors still. lol

Just a shit show of undisciplined and selfish characters. That loss sums up Lewis tenure in Cincy. What an embarassment.

Yeah it was undisciplined......but that last penalty on PacMan was BS

Porter was NOT allowed to be on the field, and he purposely engaged Bengals players. The ref is supposed to KNOW this......that flag should have been on Porter. The NFL can't penalize one team who is where they are supposed to be and allow the other to break the rules with no consequence. That flag would have neutralized the first.

Poor player discipline and poor officiating.

It needs to be looked at, granted Porter had no business to be out on the field, but the Bengal players should've known the refs weren't going to up with any BS specially with a minute left in the game.

Burfict was an idiot and cost the team the game. Not sure I can blame Lewis for that.
And I'm sure he didn't know that if he had not been down that stupid run down the tunnel after his INT could have been a safety. He is the definition of a moron.

Yeah, Porter shouldn't have been on the field but the Bengals would have lost the game regardless. Oh and Lewis should be let go, no matter who the starting QB was.

Sir...it was a penalty in today's NFL...doesn't matter if you lead with the helmet or shoulder...contact above the shoulders to what is deemed a defenseless WR is a penalty....he went for the knockout blow, and he got it.

I find the last sentence to be completely inaccurate. Look at the replay and tell me he went for a knock out blow. Think about these questions when you watch it

1. Did he lead with his head?
2. Did he throw the forearm?
3. Did he launch hinself?
4. Did he even explode through his hips?

I answered all of them as a no, but I am not a family of either team. That is why I think the penalty is questionable and the meme that he was trying to hurt someone is laughable and a lazy take. As for the "today's NFL", you are probably correct, but that doesn't make it deserved. I have always maintained that it is ignorant to try and regulate the area of the hit, instead of the regulating the form of the hit

I don't know about running out of town a coach who makes the playoffs every year. Chip Kelly ran out his players and they stunk up the joint. Mike Martz made the playoffs consistently with the Rams and the Rams havent done squat since. Marty Schottenheimer made the playoffs every year and the Browns, Chargers and Chiefs generally haven't done much since. I'm not going to say Marvin Lewis is a great coach but fire him at your peril.

Thuggism is part of Bengals culture. Not sure if getting rid of Marvin would correct that ship. Some players have it deeply ingrained.

By all accounts...Lewis is a good guy, and he's shown to be a decent HC, but if he were in PIT, SF, NE...with all the top 15 draft picks and the same record...is he still the HC?

The Rooney's are a patient bunch but the standard is higher, I'll say maybe for them, but out in the other two...losing Dalton is a valid excuse for losing I guess, but what happened last night...tough to swallow if you're a Bengals fans.

Looks like the league is going to fine Porter.....but his penalty non call pretty much gave them the chip shot FG win. I think the team will pay his fine.

Like I said, HORRIBLE officiating. If that penalty is called correctly, the Steelers still aren't in FG range with 20 seconds. There's no guarantee they get a catch downfield, and get the FG team on in time to make an attempt. That penalty more or less guaranteed the win, regardless of the fumble or Burfict

Today's NFL...obviously I have a dog in this fight so to speak, but it seems like you just don't agree with the rules of the game today...1-4...I think you're over thinking it...you do not have to lead with your helmet...a shoulder, forearm, etc. contacting a defenseless player above the shoulder is a penalty.

I would question Tomlin as to why Porter was on the field during the game, but I think you're blindly lumping both HCs into the same place.

Oh no. I'm not lumping them in the same place at all. Lewis has a lot more to be embarrassed about. But the Steelers still had some bad moments too.

People are jumping all over Burfict, but Shaziers hit on Bernard was 10x worse. He took 2 steps, but was still completely blindsided by a guy who launched at him with the crown of his helmet square in the chin.

Before any more talk about "dirty" hits, the league needs to get its act together and figure out a comprehensive policy on hitting and what is or isn't legal. Even the awful "targeting" rule in NCAA is better than the NFL's rules currently.

The penalty was called correctly. Porter being on the field was 100% legit given that it was a TO and he was out there to help Brown. Now where the fine comes in hat he shouldn't be jawing with the other team so that I agree with but Pac-Man is still the dumbass who tried to take a swing at a guy over an official thus hitting him(which is when a flag was thrown) all because Porter was talking and Jones couldn't handle it.
