wasn't this what he initially turned down?

It's probably the structure he didn't like of the first one. It's a boat load of guaranteed money.

I asked you to look at Brady's passing yards and TD's, in his first 3 season. It is not that hard, you can do it purguy. I can help you if you need help.

Anyway, the point was that Brady increased his passing total dramatically. He had similar number to that of Wilson. That being said purguy, while it seems impossible to you, those that watch RW every game, EVERY play, know how valuable RW is.
Brady was a true QB, a pocket passer, RW is a running QB. Just stop man u are looking bad right now. Please don't try and compare these 2. Now if you want to try and compare him to Mcnabb who was a running QB turned into a some what pocket passer Im ok with that.

yes I can see Wilson improve but making that much money he needs to be a lot better and be the main reason they win to justify the money he is making. Life is going to be different when they lose a lot of guys.

OMG he is trying to compare Tom Brady to RW. This is getting ugly for seattle fans. Please other seattle fans stop this guy before he destroys your fan base.

Tom Brady in his first 3 years of starting as QB. 10,249 yards 67 TDs 38 Ints
Russell Wilson in his first 3 years in the league, 9950 yards 72 TDs 26 Ints

Yeah, no comparison at all. Oh wait, you are comparing Tom Brady at the end of his career to Russell Wilson in his first three season. Because that makes sense to you?

no link watching ESPN on the East coast.

I 100% guarantee that they lose some of the guys you mention. Its impossible to keep all.

You 100% guarentee it huh. well then I guess the hawks should just close up shop.

Hey buddy, i know you probably haven't paid attention, but SEattle has lost guys the last few years and have been just fine.

Clemons, Bryant, Maxwell, Tate, Rice, Mcdaniel, Maragos, Giacominni

The fewer years was at Russ's request.

He gets to do a new deal as he hits 30 with the cap going up obscene amounts each year in the 4 years between.

i already explained it, but as per SportsHoopla standards, it was passed over because it made sense.

Not sure where ESPn is getting their information. Before this deal got done Seattle if the Cap is around $150 million next year have around $38 million in cap space before this deal got done. I doubt his cap hit is $38 million. This definitely makes things a lot tighter from next year on for the team but they have done pretty well managing the cap knowing this situation would happen.

I will say though that Bobby Wagner tweet was pretty telling of his thoughts on what this means for his future.

He's in the middle of negotiations right now. He knows it's either make a deal or get franchised. That's what I was figuring would happen to begin with. Bennett's gone after this season and Lynch as well so there's going to be money to work with for him as well.

Seriously? Seattle fans have only been talking about who stays and who goes for the last 2+ years. No shit you can't afford to keep a defense with Wagner, Thomas, Chancellor, and Sherman.
that's not what the other seattle fans think. Go read some of your fans responses. Its bad.

Hey Rock. Is Tom Brady considered a "top level passer"? Of course he is.
What did Brady's stats like like after 3 season? Are they similar to RW's?

Brady's first three year averages:

20-32 217 yards 1.5 TDs 0.8 INTs a game.

Wilson:

16-26 207 yards 1.5 TDs 0.5 INTs a game

next year they will have to cut some. they will be way over the cap. (im not 100% sure on this but ESPn was talking about this.) Some big names will get cut next year on this team.

I've already said Irvin and Mebane are probably gone. Some good players there but it's not the end of the world, there's this little thing called the NFL draft you see.

Really? He's thinking about a hypothetical team that doesn't exist? And if they do in 5 years, LA will get some top 5 pick-garbage franchise moving there. Doubt he'll want to spend his 30s in a place like that.

Maybe, maybe nopt. But I do think he is looking ffor a bigger stage. He claims he wants to go into politics when his NFL career is over. I don't Seattle is a good place to launch a political career, do you? And he's rubbing shoulders with the celebrity types now. Not much in the way of celebrities in Seattle.

I don't mind if he leaves after this contract is up. That will be, what, 2020? Our all-world defense and Marshawn Lynch will both be a distant memory by then anyway and i doubt if Wilson can carry this team by himself.

yup

yet one guy is 6'5 and a true pocket passer

one isnt

and if you noticed, brady was asked to do more (passes per game) than wilson.

the funny thing about metrics is you can make them say whatever you want.

Weird, here you are talking about tom brady and the patriots in a thread not having anything to do with them.... weird.

ok he is above avg not avg but still isn't great. take that great D and that great running game and see what happens. We will find out in the next few years.

sorry for the avg talk. He is better then half in the league so I will say he is above avg. For that money he needs to be great Top 5 talk and he isn't. That's my point.
I don't have the time, but it would be interesting to see how many QB's have/had top 5 money at the time of their deal.

I think it would be safe to guess that by this time nexy year, russel wont' be a top 5 QB in terms of pay.

I even rounded Brady's TD numbers up so he didn't look as bad.
