irvin is a sheldon richardson waiting to happen

They are gonna cut ties with Irvin. Next year for sure if not this year. And you are probably riht about him. He's exciteable and makes poor choices.

$60 million guaranteed in Wilson's contract and a $31 million signing bonus.

The type of money he got is good: $21.9 million per year, with the guarantees still TBD and very much a big part of this. Wilson taking less than $100 million total would seem to be an indication there's a large part of this guaranteed

$21.9M puts him up there with the best QB's in the league. He deserves it. Glad he got paid.

We need to see the actual breakdown. If it is a true extension like being reported, it comes down to 17.5 per year, but with massive guarantees. Win-win.

Boy the agents are really failing the league's young QB's.

No way I would have had RW accept that. Notice how they are saying extension. That means really this is a 5 year deal for $90 and the agent is just acting like getting a raise on hi $1.5M wasn't possible.

Both Cam and Wilson need to new agents. Luck should send each one of those two guys a flaming bag of dog poo.

I didn't read the article so was wondering if this was just an extension or an actual just 4-year deal. I figured it would just be an extension. Have to see the Cap Break Down later today but right now good deal for Seattle if it truly is a 5-year deal with that $1.5 million this year included.

You don't have much to worry about right now. I need to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon in order to burn anything in that manner to begin with.

You said that after they signed Sharman and again after they signed Thomas. LOL. Get ready to say it again because Wagner is next and it's going to happen soon. I think the deal is already done and they were just waiting to make sure they had money after Wilson signed.
id never say that about thomas, no way.

he IS that defense.

If someone guarantees me $60M over the next 4 years they can say that $1.00 was for my talent and the rest was for washing the owners car on the weekends. I wouldn't care and I doubt RW does either.

Yeah the guaranteed money is what must have spoke to him. But he left an INCREDIBLE amount of money on the table. If he plays out this season, he easily gets a 5 year $125M deal next offseason as the cap goes up and the franchise tag would have forced Seattle to start the bidding process from an incredibly high floor.

IMO this deal cost him in excess of $10M over the next 5 years at the very least. I can't imagine that insurance would have cost him anything close to that for this season.

Not necessarily. I know what you're saying but shit happens. He could have a bad year or he could hang out with Jason Pierre Paul and blow off a few fingers. By taking the deal today he has set himself up for life. A bird in the hand and all that.

Word. In the fall, when bears are primarily eating berries, their feces makes good fertilizer. In the spring, when they are eating fish and baby elk - not so much.

I think he was smart to only lock up for four years. This guys that singed 7-8 year deals are going to be grossly underpaid toward the end of their contract.

And Wilson is probably figuring that by the time this deal expires, there will be a team in Los Angeles and he can have the big stage he craves.
