It's not so much is height that I keep hearing about, it's his bulk. Drew Brees is considered short for a QB and he overcomes that by standing on his toes when he throws.
The difference is that Brees isn't a running QB - he's a pocket passer.
When we look at running QB's you have to have some bulk to be able to absorb those hits. Big Ben is 6'5" and 250. Defenders constantly talk about how strong he is, how hard he is to get to the ground, how he will shake off things that a normal QB can't, etc.
Manziel is built like Michael Vick - who's often injured.
We'll see what happens.

From pictures of him it looks very suspect being of slender build. There have been some real good slender QB's in the past but ..
